Gretchen Bazooka & Thought Criminal: Fierce Radio July 21

Our guest Helena Mrazkova, also known as kopi o, is an Indonesian Czech classical concert pianist, music student/instructor, model and DJ based in Aberdeen/Scotland. In this mix she plays speed electro, rap fusion and techno, and showcases some of her favourite artists, including Confidential Recipe, Mango, Club Cab and JB.

She got into DJing last christmas. Before then she was producing tracks for film and some kinetic art installations she had made. She was always into music but more on the 'acoustic' side of things - performing and competing in piano concerts, creating symphonies and orchestral pieces. As well as that, she played a lot of Gamelan on the side as she is half Indonesian and had access to these instruments (percussive, bronze metallic instruments) in South East Asia (Singapore and Indonesia). A lot of techno and electronic music in general is influenced by Gamelan, so that played a huge part in her DJing career.

This month host Thought Criminal is joined by guest Mutated Pony, resident DJ and producer at AudioAddictz Live, AudioAddictz Records UK, Psybase UK, Psy Sisters UK, Pinknoise MX. Her sets are power infused blend of psychedelic twilight sounds, comprising full on hypnotic sounds, with chaotic chanting beats that are magically blended together to tell a story of spine tingling melodies. An incantation of unsung words.
