The Edsel Auctioneer play a rare live show prior to recording their second album 'The Good Time Music of..." Early versions of tracks from that album and reworked classics from their first 'Simmer', delivered in an ecstatic live shimmer of feedback, distortion and head down abandon.  They even play their very first singIe 'Our New Skin' a perennial Peel favourite (God bless you John!).  I think it was recorded by David 'Dex' Davidson for the live video "Pussy Metal" (four copies sold........) but it's nearly twenty years ago... All the best, Ashley x

"Winter" by Hamilton, Canada-based composer and multi-instrumentalist SØLYS (Michael Chambers) is a solo piano piece inspired by the works of Erik Satie. Haunting and melancholic, this short composition evokes the loneliness of a winter landscape and the restlessness of a winter storm. The tempo is deliberately slow as time seems to come to a crawl through the winter as we wait for the arrival of spring.

This demo of the William DeVaughn penned song, later covered by Love, was recorded shortly before The Pale Fountains became Shack. It was recorded in the same pre-Zilch sessions as "John Kline", "Emergency" and "Realisation", at Pink Studios, Ullet Road, Liverpool in 1987 with Dave 'Dix' Dickie at the controls.
