Rockin' for the Lord

Rockin' for the Lord.
Time for some good old Rock & Roll. So said an inner feeling in a moment when the motivation for a better me was failing like, well.

I had been so convinced that the road was straight and smooth. I had felt that the creator was so close to me.

But suddenly I was like a lost sheep on my way down. The ugly devil called Alcohol whispered sweet lies to me. Just one bottle can't hurt.

I had never fallen on my knees and asked the Lord up there in the sky for anything at all. Always took the creator for granted. Just walked in simple faith and didn't care that much.

Never been the best child in the church. But who can say something like that about themselves. We are all sinners, you know.

Help me Lord to keep going was my thought. Help me focus on the good in the darkness that still exists if you just don't give up.

Some days can be like, well, you know. We're all sinners. Who can say he has the right to cast the first stone, was the word that came to me from the scripture of the old.

Just a little good old Rock and Roll to the glory of the Lord. Then the devil and his false promises were gone. Depression can be like, well, you know.

But he who does not give up his faith is always in tune with the eternal word of the Lord. The good news can come in any tempo at all. So Just rock on in the good way that gives peace to the soul.

The Weekend Is Here

The weekend is here again.

The weekend is finally here.
The week at the factory was long and hard.
The hours until finally getting to stamp out dragged on.

Not many dollars for so many hours of hard work.
But at least you have food in the fridge for a while.
No need to think about filling up any car that'sbeen sold.

Because a ticket to a bus is now all you have money for to get around. 
Now the weekend is here, and it's time to get your dancing shoes on. 
What would life be without country music and a good old rocking song.

But like someone ones said, you shouldn't think too much.
That's not good for your health and mood. Now the weekend is here. 
So now it's only good country music and dancing shoes that are on my mind.

If there's no dance hall open, there must be some good songs on the jukebox at the local cafe. Because who wants to sit at home in a corner when the weekend is finally here?
Maybe call a friend and see what's going on.

You can't just work and grind all week long.
You have to have some swinging music sometime.
Good rocking music is what makes the world go round.

The weekend is here again.

What would life be without country music and a good old rocking song.

Whispers in the corner

In the dark corner of the all-too-familiar store,
So many times there, and always with the same result.
A lonely soul, with hope like a faintly flickering spark,
His heart lost in plans for a party in a nearby park.

No dreams of a dinner for two, just a hopeless escape.
A few hours' journey out into the blue and a gray haze.
Shelves dressed in colors, a quiet, tinkling beautiful scene,
But hidden within him, something dark, like a rising scream.

The bottles' glow in the light, but his mind so lost,
Caught in his dreams, unaware of the whole cost.
Like a devil's whisper in the aisle, stepping out into the night,
With every choice he made, his hopes took flight.

In the depths of the moment, where fate will decide, Ridin' high.
Red or white? Someone in the background asked as if in a dream,
Unaware that a stranger now had him there in a grip.
The laughter from the street outside could almost be heard,
While the cold observer watched him like a confused bird.

A thought develops, under fluorescent skies,
The store's fluorescent lights seemed to almost increase in intensity.
An unspoken tension in the air, hidden truths in disguise.
The bottles on the shelf, with the promise lying within sight.
Perhaps a dark dream changes, perhaps turns wrong into right.

Will we be dance of light, or a march of fate?
Every heartbeat counts, while the mind spins freely in space.
One step closer now, the tension in the queue feels so hard,
In this market of vanity, one must be on one's guard.

Got an old Chevy and sittin’ in the sun,
The time has come, now let's have some fun,
Been parked there in the garage, way to long.
Now it's time to shine, to the rhythm of a good old song.

So let’s get down to business, honey,
With a boogie-woogie feeling, all day is sunny,
Don't think about tomorrow, just kick all the sorrows,
Rollin’ down the highway, heading for tomorrow.

Good old cars, they don’t talk so much,
But they whisper stories with that low-down touch,
Engine’s hummin’, listen to the rhythm divine,
Turn the music up, and we’ll make everything shine.

So let’s get down to business, honey,
With a boogie-woogie beat we'll gonna make it,
Don't think abot tomorrow, just let's hit the road,
Rollin' down the highway, just feel the flow.

Spark plugs and chrome, a twist with the key,
We’ll ride on the waves of Rock n Roll, can't you see,
With a Rock n Roll sound and the bass that thumps,
We gonna dance in the moonlight, feel that heart pump.

The Dysthymic Blues

Get out and move. Don't sit in a corner and be so blue, be grateful and happy, it's the best for you. All these clever thinkers with there positive mantras and yoga ways, maybe time for a drink anyway.

The sun is shining, and yet gloomy thinking, mostly thoughts of a break and maybe soon a bit drinkin'. The Dysthymic blues are here again. 
Gotta think this over, really gotta think.

It's a hard work to get up when you've fallen down, 
It'sa hard work to hold on to the right stuff and get the crown. 
No time to sleep. It's hard to find motivation some days, you see.

Get out and move. Don't be like that. Be grateful and happy, 
Fake it till you make it. Don't care about that you maybe is tired like a dead horse. 
That your energy is almost zero and that nothing feels fun. Just go out, and why not maybe with a happy smile, begin to run. 

Just Laugh and smile anyway. All these clever thinkers with there positive mantras and yoga ways. Only the ones who walk in the Dysthymic shoes can understand what it's like. 
Not exactly a sunshine trip and a happy hike.

Good Ol' Rock n Roll

Learning to fly

Late night shadows danced on the wall,
Chased dreams, all gone, can’t recall,
Poured another drink, let the darkness in,
But every sip just wraped me tighter in.

Lost in the mirror, staring at a ghost,
Thought I'd find my truth, Oh such a joke.
But the laughter faded and the tears started to flow,
Why don't break free from the prison walls?

Cause every bottle was like a punch to my soul,
Tried to feel alive, but I’m just losed control,
Chased moments, thought I was a king,
But that liquid prison did'nt give me a thing.

I thought I could fly, I thought I could see,
But that ol' poison was a bad dream to me,
Oh, it hit me so hard, almost made me insane,
If that's freedom, Who needs such anyway.

I had a smile, but it faded fast,
Each blurry memory drowned in the glass.
Woke up to silence, just a heart full of scars,
Searced the reason beneath all blurry stars.

They said love can save you, but I was stuck on the floor,
Had an empire of empty bottles I’d laid down in a row.
But suddenly one morning I saw a shining light,
Had been dancing in the shadows, an endless fight.

The lies I chased, they whisped sweet and low,
But I wanted something more, just see something grow.
Said godbye to the bottles, and the truth came through,
No more hiding in the shadows, said godbye to the blues.

I got my the scars, from the battles I've been fight,
But I found a freedom, turned my back to the night,
Listened to an inner voice, and stepped into the light.
I’m learning to fly, Yeah that's right.

Learning to fly

Woke up last night

Woke up last night after a vivid dream where you were the main character in a play called life. 
All the actors had their special roles and everything was woven together into a plot that culminated in a thought that you should understand that the greatest of all is love.

I have sometimes heard that the one who is wise and knows everything that should be known but lacks love. Such knowledge is worth nothing, as it is like an empty clanging of cymbals or something like that. I felt quite cold inside at first when I woke up, the meaninglessness seemed so obvious in everything.

Like a seed being planted in the ground, a plant growing, perhaps becoming a tall tree. but then it ages and withers away, is sawn down and becomes planks or firewood. A lot of effort but, for what really. Because nothing is forever in this world, it has been said.

I thought of a time a long time ago when I was thinking about the meaning of life. I was told by a priest that it might be about being there for someone. I thought it was priest talk, and I didn't really understand at the time that it was the highest one up there that was meant. 

Only now, as a relatively sober person, can I better interpret the dreams that come to me. 
The wise speak of gratitude, and that you should always feel it no matter what happens. 
Because it is a key to peace and harmony.

It says in the Scriptures that many famous people from the past have had dreams. 
Now I think that the highest one up there apparently wanted to explain a few things. 
Love for oneself and one's neighbor is good, but love for the creator must also be in place, and highest and always come first.
