In a UK reggae scene that has long eschewed bands in favor of sound systems, Backbeat Soundsystem are a different beast, bringing 8 musicians to the stage. While many of their peers are slavish in their attempt to recreate an authentic Jamaican-leaning sound, Backbeat Soundsystem are not afraid to go in totally different directions, pulling in influences from all across the music spectrum, to create their vision of modern reggae. Dean and Adjua effortlessly tear up the stage with lush harmonies, soaring melodies and natural born chemistry. This combined with a flawless horn section and undeniable groove leaves the audience mesmerised by their show stopping performance. Bringing an electronic flavour to the mix, with dub effects, sirens and live analog synthesiser, Backbeat Soundsystem remind the world that dub reggae is at the forefront of dance music culture.

Since forming in 2008, Backbeat Soundsystem has appeared at many of the best-known UK festivals, including Glastonbury, Boomtown Fair, Beautiful Days, Secret Garden Party, Greenman, Boardmasters, and many others, as well as toured in Europe and the United States. They’ve supported Madness, Cypress Hill, Arrested Development, Tinie Tempah, The Streets, and Dub Pistols. 
Following the success of two self-released EPs and two tours with Easy Star All-Stars in the UK, the band was signed by the U.S.-based reggae label Easy Star Records. Together Not Apart, the band’s debut full-length, came out in 2014 via Easy Star and brought a worldwide audience to this ambitious young band. The Punk Archive called Together Not Apart “…a top, top record and one you need in your collection,” while Shout 4 Music said it was “Packed with conscious lyrics, and buoyed by a reggae riddim filled with energy and positive vibes.”

Formed in 2007. The music is written by Hal Wheeler using Ableton Live and includes a mix of real instruments and computer synthesis. Arrival had the pleasure of with collaborating with Artists from around the world including Johnny Clarke from Jamaica, Lei Di Dai from Brazil Cultivation from Nepal, Earl 16 from the UK plus many more.

The Wab Lab is an Aberdeen based experimental internet radio station created in honour of good friends and good times from  original Wab Lab recordings. Sometimes it works... Sometimes, not so much. But in amongst the madness there's moments of pure genius and always a vibe of fun and love for the music from all our laboratory technicians.

Expect live jams, DJ sets and MCing from local friends and UK wide artists consisting of everything from Dub/Reggae Hip-hop, Bass, Trap, Funk, Soul, and Down-tempo right out to Dubstep, Jungle, Dnb, House (deep, tech, funky, acid, jackin'), Minimal, Techno and even doses of good ol' metal.

Also local live bands of all flavours in and out of the studio. Wherever there's some of that internet, we'll broadcast it!

Born and raised in the South of England, Wodda has quickly become one of the most sought-after names in the underground music scene. Dubbed a 'soul-reggae crossover sensation' by The Telegraph, Natty (San Francisco born, London raised) was ‘found” playing the open mic circuit and signed by Atlantic Records. Following his BBC performance on Later with Jools, his UK top 20 debut album ‘Man Like I’ introduced the world to his unique voice and writing ability. Driven by a deep connection to the power of music, Natty's journey is a unique one. His career highlights include a number 1 single in Japan (Badman), voted best world music act at the Independent Music Awards, touring every continent bar 1, headlining an unauthorised show in front of thousands in Khartoum, and sharing stages with Ziggy Marley on tour.

Natty isn't just a gifted musician; he's a skilled producer, crafting his own unique sound.
