Lars Huismann makes a quick return to @shdw-obscureshape ’s newly minted Mutual Rytm imprint as he delivers a medley of classic, groove driven techno productions via his ‘Sounds From The Past I’ EP.

With recent releases via labels such as Slam’s iconic Soma, Berlin-based DJ and producer Lars Huismann is quickly growing to become a familiar name of note within today’s modern techno landscape. Having featured as one of the artists on the label’s debut V/A release in February, with the German set to feature as a regular across the imprint in coming months, he unveils fresh shades to his sound palette on his return to Mutual Rytm with a combination of six slick techno cuts across his ‘Sounds From The Past I’ EP.

The powerful, rolling dynamics of ‘Surge’ open proceedings as Huismann quickly sets his stall, while ‘Collison’ veers into slick, looping territories as the energy and tension are kept tight and high. Next, ‘Echo’ ups the pace as tough kicks meet zipping melodies, filtered chords and looping vocal interjections amongst a medley of flurrying percussion licks, before ‘Funk Shed’ takes cues from its title and showcases a classy blend of classic Detroit-influenced sonics guided by sweeping synths. Title cut ‘Sounds From The Past I’ brings with it flashes of serenity and peace, before erupting and spiralling effortlessly into infectious and captivating drum groove.

Today however, it's all about the fast paced smooth grooving bonus digital track 'Jackin', which we premiere here today.

French-based DJ and producer Vekh makes his debut on the Liquid One series from Schimmer Records. His release Tundra focuses mainly on hypnotic, abstract and groovy techno, but comes with an oldschool-influenced breakbeat. Schimmer resident Franz Jäger contributed to the release with his own interpretation of „Nikol“ and a fast-paced classic Franz Jäger remix. Alarico has made a special remix for the breakbeat „Untitled 2“ that matches Schimmer in his way.

Today we premiere a track from one of Ireland's fastest rising up and coming music producers, Dylan Fogarty. His contribution to the Canadian based PHTM VA is a solid, funky and bouncy techno track that focuses on getting the most out of a select few stripped back elements.

Dublin based DJ and producer Dylan Fogarty has been making a name for himself of late, most notably with an impressive string of self releases on his Soundcloud that has garnered support from a number of artists. Some of which include Tommy Holohan, Kettama and Dustin Zahn.

Picking up gigs in Fibber's Basement courtesy of LOST, and Bow Lane from Somewhere Else, as well as appearing on London based AAJA radio it's clear that Dylan is only getting started on his musical journey and you can expect to hear much more from him in the near future.

Dylan's contribution to the PHTM various artists compilation joins him alongside 13 other artists from all across the globe showcasing their signature sounds. In this case, 'Problem Solved' is a grooving techno track filled with funk while not trying to overcomplicate the mix or overall composition. Ideal for layering and adding depth to more intricate 3 deck mixes in people's DJ sets. More of which can be found on Dylan's Soundcloud here. Get digging!
