This week's Local Selection is from Dublin native and rising DJ and producer Aoise, as we invite her to soundtrack your Wednesday afternoon.

The young DJ and producer is a graduate of the Sunil Sharpe, Doug Cooney and DeFeKT school of excellence, having studied DJ techniques and music production at BIFE. There have been many high hitters to come from this course and after hearing Aoise's take on tunes we look forward to what's in store for her.

Her sound stems from dark, dubby techno that has developed and matured through the years, taking inspiration from the likes of Ø [Phase], Sterac, Oscar Mulero and Sleeparchive. 

Having shared lineups with some of Europe's heavy hitters Christoph Faust (FKA Inhalt Der Nacht), Sunil Sharpe, Tommy Holohan and Shampain, we expect to see much more of her in the future. 

You can catch Aoise supporting Clouds this Friday in Dublin, plus at the Life Festival launch party on April 29th in Mullingar.

Argentinian artist Joaquin Ruiz has been busy of late. After appearing on Knotweed Records 039 Tales From The Dark Side (Various Artists) with a fantastic minimalist piece called 'Pyramids', he got on releasing on Ben Sims Symbolism, Jeff Mills Axis Records and a multitude of other great labels. It was just a matter of time he released a full E.P. on wax for Knotweed Records: four forward thinking spatial minimalistic pieces of techno for your aural pleasure.

London born, Newcastle based Jacklyn is a techno DJ/Producer and a vinyl record collector. She is known for her fast-paced, rhythmic and pulse racing tracks with an abundance of soul. Her self released productions have favourably been supported across the techno scenes and heavily supported by DJs from the globe. Her sound travels through the most pummelling hard techno beats and mesmerising spoken vocals throughout the journey.

Mahabe consists of two like-minded friends who are currently based in Amsterdam. They live together, they eat together, but most of time they play records together. Over the years they’ve built up a decent collection of records which stretches out from techno to electro and from house to ghetto.
Over the years Mahabe have played several clubs and festivals throughout the Netherlands such as: BRET, Wildeburg, KOPJEK and Soenda to name a few.
They also run a monthly radio show called 137 FM, where they play sets that represent their club sound as well as host listening sessions ranging from jazz, hiphop, rare groove and soundtracks. So expect the unexpected, but know that when they’re playing their records, all that’s on their minds is: “What would we like to hear if we we’re on the dancefloor right now?”
