BSV: Somewhere in Mirijevo in 2014 I stumbled upon a free download pack with your track “In Front Of Me”. Artist name was interesting at first, but I didn't know that the producer was from the same country as I am. I used that track in one of my early mixes. Are you impressed?
JELLY FOR THE BABIES: To be honest I used to hear this. When I started producing my main goal was to spread my sounds across the globe and electronic music in my country wasn't so popular like in some other countries... Probably that's why lot of them, who enjoy electronic music, from my country, didn't know I am from here.

BSV: If we compare your production from that period with the current, did you switch more to progressive house style?
JELLY FOR THE BABIES: Well yes. During the period, from my start, till now, my taste in music changed a lot and evolved from electro house more towards deep and progressive house music.

BSV: Are you jeally for the babies? You have kiddos?
JELLY FOR THE BABIES: Don't have kids yet, but will work on that.

BSV: You are the owner of several record labels. How do you manage to read those strong demo emails?
JELLY FOR THE BABIES: I work, a lot.

BSV: Hilly landscapes. Is that your inspiration?
JELLY FOR THE BABIES: And not only that... Long walks through the woods, mountains, hiking... Positive emotions.
 
BSV: So, only kick / drum samples in your production? What’s your fovorite synth vst?
JELLY FOR THE BABIES: Tone Gladiator I used the most, so let's pick that one.

BSV: Do you know how to play a “kolo” and whether you attended piano accordion or button accordion lessons?
JELLY FOR THE BABIES: I knew to play some cause I played harmonica in musical school when I was younger.

For now, she's living, dj´ing and producing in Mexico, playing on a weekly basis in Tulum and Cancun area for Deep Paradise Cancun events and many more.

"Dynamic sets. World class productions. Focused and energy driven. These are but a few of the descriptions given to Brazilian born DJ, Fell Reis. Based in Ibiza and currently holding residency at Sankey's and the Jet Pool Party he regularly sees the decks of most of the island's prime venues such as Space, Café del Mar, Privilege and Zoo Project ensuring a massive platform to reach his growing base of fans.  In 2017 Fell Reis would reach a milestone in his career with an invitation to remix “Walking on the Moon” by French artists The Supermen Lovers showing an international standard of production quality alongside other invitees such as Davina Moss (Hot Creations). Gaining quick momentum, the song grew in popularity among the likes of Roger Sanchez, Joris Voorn and the Grammy award winning duo CamelPhat which aided Fell Reis in creating a massive gap between himself and his competition. Track after track, Fell soon found himself releasing off the likes of French heavyweight house and techno imprint Word Up with a blissfully constructed EP, Agartha. The EP was an absolute dance floor smasher finding support from Eelke Klein and subsequently premiering in his world- famous radio show, Days like Nights, gaining huge support from iconic artists such as WhoMadeWho, Sasha, Nic Fanciulli and Klangrussel.  This momentum would thrust Fell Reis onto the international stage where he would gain recognition among some big artists on the scene. His release Agartha would see him receive more invitations for collaborations and remixes than ever before but, one, in particular, would stand out as a stepping stone to carve the Brazilian`s career one move closer to becoming the influential artist he pursues so passionately, an invitation by Danish band, WhoMadeWho. One of the most recognized modern-day bands, WhoMadeWho needs no introduction. Their performances have seen them travel around the world being remixed by industry heavyweights Maceo Plex, Tale Of us, Adriatique and many others currently circulating on the techno world stage.  Fell Reis's contribution would be two emotionally constructive versions to fully encompass his musical idea he intended to create for the remix package with both songs featuring powerfully on their Beatport charts placing at #40 and #42 respectively. Top draw acts such as Eagles & butterflies (Get Physical) and Marvin & Guy (Life & Death) being included in this same remix EP Fell Reis knew his production quality needed to meet the standards ahead of him and he most certainly did not disappoint with his “Night Version” being selected for the official Tomorrowland 2018 playlist."

Julie Petrecca was born in 1981 in Montreal. Since childhood, Julie is introduced to music as she grows up practically in the recording studio owned by her father. He quickly transmits his passion and his interest for the world of music to his daughter.
 
In her late teens, she discovers Electronic music and her passion for music grows even more. All these years of musical culture and the well kept connection to this particular universe, Julie's taste develops in several categories of Electronic music from Underground Deep House, Funky House, Jackin, Electronica, Organic House, Progressive House, Melodic House & Techno, Techno, Hard Techno, Tech House and Atmospheric DnB ... nevertheless Julie prefers the underground sounds ;)
 
Since February 2015, Julie host her own weekly show ‘’The So What! Radioshow’’ presenting DJs and DJ/Producers from all around the world. She’s also involved in her Family radio, ‘’Radio Webphré’’

Hello and welcome one again to the Depth Perception Sessions. This week we welcome veteran producer Manu Riga to join us for episode #126..

Bio:

Born in 1979, Adriaan Baussens fell in love with music at a young age. Growing up with his grandparents he was exposed to his grandfather’s huge collection of instrumental music including Vangelis, Jean-Michel Jarre, and many more. At the Age of 12 a teacher discovered that Adriaan had the ability to play the melodies of songs he heard instantly on a recorder flute but when his grandfather bought him his first Casio keyboard things started to happen. 
Adriaan's obsession for synthesizers led him to learn all he could about sound design and production and there wasn't a day that went by without him being in his homemade studio, absorbing the multitude of possibilities from synthesis. He has a great love for Enigma which made him create chill out music and became the building blocks for the 2012 album "Sad in Joy" on Bonzai Elemental under the moniker Twins in Mind. In 2005 a friend challenged him to make a House track. "Good Feeling" was the result which became a hugely successful track and was remixed by Dr Kucho! The track went on to sell out in no time and ended up in the Belgian Dance Charts . Manu Riga was born. The name Manu Riga originated from shuffling the letters of Gary Numan, another of his idols, and whilst he enjoyed success with 'Good Feeling' under this guise he felt this was not the music he should making. After struggling to write a successor to 'Good Feeling' he looked for inspiration in order to create the commercial sound he was looking for. At this time music by Pole folder & CP, DJ Shadow and Sasha & Digweed was opening him up to a new world of sound, much closer to the sound he wanted to create. In 2005 the track Taï Chi Girl, was refused by record labels which led Adriaan to put Manu Riga to rest for a while. During this time Adriaan composed several soundtracks for movies and continued to create the smooth, chilled vibes of the Twins in Mind sound. Almost 5 years later in 2009, after a talk with Laurent Veronnez (Airwave), he decided to send Tai Chi Girl to Bonzai Records. The track still sounded fresh and Bonzai was happy to sign it to their flagship label Bonzai Progressive giving Manu Riga a new home. In 2010 an artist deal was signed and since then a huge amount of releases and remixes followed. Original tracks such as "No Matter What", "The Darkness Within" and the successful “Cimmerian" made the Manu Riga sound well known in the underground scene. Remixes for the late great Quadran (Philip Van Mullem), Gai Barone, Art of Trance, Moshic and many others, put the Manu Riga sound into many sets across the world and marked him as a highly respected producer. With over 40 remixes and 14 original EP’s it has been quite a productive 5 years for Manu Riga. in 2015 Manu Riga started a collaboration project with Matt Holliday (as Matt & Manu), releasing two very well received EP's, "You are Contagious" and "Submerged Needs", alongside remixes for Dark soul Project, Phi Phi and Matan Caspi. On 25th of July the duo performed a back to back set on the Bonzai Stage at Europe's biggest festival, Tomorrowland. Every month they host their own radio show Ethnoscience on progressive.beats.org which is where Manu Riga also has his well received podcast Escape. 2016 saw the light of his artist album "Surrounded" which hit the charts releases hard with a nr 1 spot both in Progressive house and Chillout. Around 2019 Manu Riga started to work together with the legendary dj Phi-Phi and after several remixes and originals as Manu Riga & Phi-Phi on labels such as Bonzai , Vesta Records . the duo decided it was time to do a new project which they called Kayinda. Kayinda stands for their dark deep progressive and tribal injected fusion of styles and they are working now on a full live show.

Creativity and energy is what it’s all about for charismatic DJ Yves Eaux from Amsterdam. (Pronounce as ‘Eve-O’).

Jetting as a DJ globally from New York to New Delhi. From Moscow to Miami. From exclusive film premieres to massive sport arena’s.

Hammering house, techhouse and funky techno. A carefully selected mix of today’s electronic music which can be only found left from the centre and straight from under the radar.

Sharing the bill with artists like Sasha, Joris Voorn, Kevin Saunderson, Laidback Luke, Pleasurekraft, Sander Kleinenberg, Marco V and even Infected Mushroom.

He releases tracks for the global DJ scene on a monthly basis which storm the charts on Beatport, I-Tunes and many other stores. Represented by taste making labels such as Kling Klong, NOIA, Italo Business, Black Hole Recordings, Supermarket, Wazzup!, Spinnin’, Baroque, TUG and WTF/Natura Viva.

His signature production style is supported by deejays from every corner of the electronic music spectrum; from Richie Hawtin to Roger Sanchez and from Armin van Buuren to Dubfire.

Besides putting out originals, Yves Eaux is also remixing other artists such as Wes, Cicada, Superluminal, popgroup Vacuum, Rene Amesz, Simon & Shaker, George F, Kasey Taylor & Pena, DJ Tarkan, Andrea Bertolini, Muzikjunki and Paul Thomas. The remix of double grammy award winning song ‘Sweet Lullaby’ originally by Deep Forest was a worldwide success and hit the number one spot from Japan to Canada in many charts.

His music, using various monikers, reaches out to a huge crowd. It can be found on over 85 million vinyl’s, CD’s and DVD’s and is aired in many international advertising campaigns.

In January 2013 Yves Eaux started his monthly radio show Evolution by Yves Eaux. Broadcasted by a dozen of popular global (web) radio stations.

Next to that Yves Eaux is also an internationally acknowledged director of TV commercials and works with people like Robbie Williams, Phil Collins, Michael Buble, James Blunt, Ronan Keating and James Morrison.

Bio:

Marcelo Malta, aka MLTX, is a DJ and music producer deeply rooted in a musical legacy. Inspired by his multi-instrumentalist father, he began his musical journey early on, mastering drumming and performing in hardcore, punk rock, and heavy metal bands. This formative experience instilled in him a profound appreciation for diverse rhythms and melodies.

In 2015, a transformative experience at major festivals and parties ignited a passion for techno. Immersed in the sounds of renowned artists, he discovered a new musical direction. Encouraged by a friend during the pandemic, he embraced DJing, quickly establishing himself as a rising star.

MLTX has garnered international recognition, playing at renowned parties and podcasts worldwide. His talent was acknowledged by the Colombian collective @elviaje, where he was invited to curate, providing a platform for other underground artists.

MLTX's unique sound, coined #fusiontechno, seamlessly blends techno, indie dance, and dark disco. His productions and DJ sets are characterized by energetic and captivating performances, driven by powerful, dark rhythms that reflect his drumming background.

Depth Perception Sessions #129 - MLTX

Hello and welcome back to the Depth Perception Sessions.

This week we welcome Barcelona resident Pedro Capelossi to bring us his unique brand of forward thinking, genre blurring house, tech house and dub for Episode #128.

Bio:

With a producer career that spans almost a decade, Pedro Capelossi has quickly emerged from Spain's avant-garde electronic music landscape.

Born in Brazil, naturalized in Spain, and currently based in Barcelona - Pedro has forged a distinctive sound which focuses on inventive use of atmosphere and rhythm, drawing the lines between global dance cultures without adhering to any fixed formula.

In 2023 he founded his own musical imprint REFRACTION RECORDS, representing some of the world’s most avant-garde visual artists, designers and musicians. Blurring the boundaries between house, techno and its closely related derivatives, REFRACTION operates with an inherent understanding of the principles set out by electronic music’s greatest innovators.

Pablo Bolivar's Seven Villas has been a primary vehicle for Pedro's far-reaching work, with additional projects via Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, Madloch’s Sound Avenue among other specialized labels such as ARTS, Hoomidas Records, TOR (When We Dip) and Loot Recordings highlighting his resume.

Over the years Pedro's tracks have counted on support from recognizable names such as Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, Andrey Pushkarev, Eelke Kleijn, Pablo Bolívar, Armen Miran, Matt Darrey and Airwave just to name a few.

DJing for over a decade now, in his hometown Barcelona Pedro played in some of the best parties and clubs such as PACHA, NOM Barcelona, Cafe Del Mar, City Hall, Macarena, Valhalla etc. alongside names such as Sebastien Leger, Eelke Kleijn, Cid Inc, Fur Coat and many more.

On his home turf of São Paulo he was responsible for important nightlife projects such as UNIK ID, hosting artists like Nick Warren and Cid Inc, as well as the PROGRESSION nights held at one of the most important clubs in Brazil - D.EDGE, supporting world-renowned guest artists all year round.

Pedro's DJ performances focus on underground electronic music, especially dub house and dub techno, deep house, minimal and downtempo. His versatility to move between different styles depending on audience and event, allows him to perform club gigs same as festivals.

Depth Perception Sessions #128 - Pedro Capelossi

Hello and welcome once again to the Depth Perception Sessions, a playground for lovers of cutting edge electronic music.

This week we welcome Dutch DJ Mindbox to deliver Episode #130. He brings us a classic mix of techno and house from around the world.

Bio:

In the sets of Dutch dj Mindbox, a lot of things come together ...

That probably has something to do with the fact that he bought his first set of turntables back in 2002, and has been spinning mostly techno ever since. With the occasional detour into other genres, depending on the vibe of the venue or party.

After years of playing vinyl (back when old-school beatmatching was still the standard) he made the switch to timecode vinyl. During that period, Mindbox played under various aliases at techno parties and festivals. Sometimes solo, but often back-to-back.

Starting his mixing career with Neapolitan techno, flowing through deep house, minimal, and tech house, he eventually found his way into the world of melodic techno. But now that a big part of melodic techno is becoming more and more vocal-driven (with those long, trance-like vocal lines), Mindbox is shifting his focus. He’s drawn to loop-based vocals (a love that goes way back), and to the housier, more energetic side of melodic techno. Less floaty atmosphere, more drive and groove.

His latest mix is a tightrope dance between housey vibes, spaced-out moments, and always-grooving melodic techno. The final few tracks throw it back to that early-’90s house energy, German Brigante being a great example. And if you know your classics, the final track La Luna might have you mentally layering in the vocal from a famous Hed Kandi vibed track Summer Daze by Nick Holder (1999).
