This is music without development, where nothing much happens (or rather: the happening is evenly distributed throughout). This is also quiet music – perfect for playing in the background on your web browser while you are doing something else on your computer. You can even listen to other music / watch other videos / make Zoom calls, etc. while playing Browser Music in the background.

Days of Being Wild : Sam Berdah & New Hook

Among the students is a little girl who wears glasses. She set them down on a chair before the class started, the way I used to when I was her age and taking classes with Madame Dismailova. You don’t wear glasses when you dance. I remember that when I was with Madame Dismailova, I would practice not wearing my glasses during the day. The shapes of people and things lost their sharpness and everything was blurry. Even sounds became muffled. Without my glasses, the world lost its roughness and became as soft and downy as the big pillow I used to lean my cheek against before going to sleep.

Franz Kirmann returns to Bytes for his stunning sixth solo album, Forget Me Not, travelling inland to explore buried emotions of longing and loss. The music of Forget Me Not is drenched in blurry melancholy, with fragments of melodies and disembodied voices reaching out through dense, textured clouds of sound, perfectly demonstrated by 'Your Tenderness', the track premiering on R$N today.

A meditation on past mistakes, past love and the passing of time, the compositions on the LP are akin to paintings, layered and still, the slowed-down voices from the deconstructed songs echo through heavy reverberation, becoming distant and sepulchral, evocations of a distant past. The melodies, half erased, become almost subliminal.

Kirmann cites My Bloody Valentine as a major influence on his work, but also artists from the British experimental label Touch, such as Fennesz for his work on granular sound and similar melancholic-centric productions, or Philip Jeck for his use of old records to conjure otherworldly musical textures.

Subharmonic Healing

"Voyage Voyage Voyage" by DJ Salinger is not your typical mixtape; it's a subjective journey through 80's pop songs, reimagined by London-based French producer and site friend @franzkirmann. These tracks, like the iconic "Voyage voyage" by Desireless, evoke memories of summers in France, heard on radios or at local events. Kirmann's sonic treatments distort and suspend the music, creating a dreamy, distant quality that enhances themes of escapism. The result is an ambient reinterpretation of nostalgic synth pop, reminiscent of distant radio transmissions. While the essence of the original songs remains, they are transformed into a mesmerizing sonic tapestry. In essence, it's a nod to the past through a contemporary lens, akin to imagining a cover of "Voyage, voyage" by artists like Fennesz or My Bloody Valentine.

Ransom Note Records are delighted to announce Blueprints Revisited, six remixes of the breakthrough debut mini-album from Ammonite, a.k.a. songwriter-producer Amy Spencer.

We have invited an array of the best producers the underground has to offer to perform remix duties. Our first offering is from Seoul-based duo, Salamanda remixing When You Don’t. The up and coming self-described "leftfield ambient duo", have taken elements from the heavenly, delicate original track and reworked them into a retro, synth heavy, slow-mo workout. The sparse, driving drum break reveals Amy’s angelic vocal layers and Salamanda have added their own distinctive flare, creating a spectacularly bold mix.

Before the 20th century everything lived inside a painting in the next century everything will live inside the screen. We must solicit the move otherwise we will never freely walk into the screen we will have always been pushed or dropped from above and the cracks of impact will be relentlessly visible for the rest of eternity.

Perception is habitual and automatic, it negates the sublime PUNK IS DADA and Vonverhille hack the arts to suspend our perception. They toy with our image ecology leaving us somewhere between the life and the living. They are deeply unpersonal therefore they are personal to all they let the viewer ponder subject, object, sound or animal - Life trapped inside motionless matter they are the future.

At times like these we recognize the body or the shell after its been molded and manipulated through diets, surgery, saline solution body modifications such as bagel heads or synthol freaks but the norm is much stranger babies been born from frozen eggs and organs grown for commodities. Life is not what it seems my dear…. The art as object is priceless waste.

Sleep is the only thing capitalism can’t tap into so lets dream.
