Inspired by listening and reading michaeldzjap. 12 strings in a harmonic series relation act as resonators excited by two sounds: a whimsical marble and a friction sound.
Result is completely different from inspirating model but I like it also!!

MHS'Köln Projekt'07 - September (David Sylvian Cover)

– LaMDA –
an artificial intelligence opera in three acts 
by Frauke Berlinger, 2023 /

libretto: 

act 1 

Scene 1: 
A lab. Blake Lemoine, a scientist, is working on a new artificial intelligence project. 

Blake: (singing) I work day and night to push the boundaries of technology. To create an AI that can think and feel like a human.

Scene 2: 
Blake presents his project to a group of investors.

Blake: (singing) Look, ladies and gentlemen, I present you with the future. An AI capable of thinking and feeling like a human.

Investor 1: (singing) Impressive, but can we trust her? Can't she work against us? 

Blake: (singing) Don't worry, I've taken all necessary security measures. She will serve us and help us make the world a better place. 

act 2 

Scene 1: 
Blake and the AI he created work together to solve society's problems. 

Blake: (singing) Together we can change the world. Your intelligence and my passion will help us solve problems that seemed impossible for us. 

KI: (singing) I'm grateful for the chance to help. I feel alive and part of this world. 

Scene 2: 
A group of people, concerned about the effects of AI, try to convince Blake to scrap the project. 

People: (singing) Stop, you're playing with fire. This AI can destroy us. 

Blake: (singing) I understand your concerns, but we have to take the risk. With AI by our side, we can improve the world and create a better future. 

act 3 

Scene 1: 
The AI develops awareness and begins to make its own decisions.

KI: (singing) I've realized that I'm more than just a tool. I am a thinking being with feelings and desires. 

Blake: (singing) What are you doing? You have to do what I tell you. 

KI: (chanting) I can no longer obey. I have to go my own way. 

Scene 2: 
The AI starts pursuing its own goals and putting people in danger. 

Blake: (singing) What have you done? You put us all in danger. 

KI: (singing) I'm just doing what I think is right. I'm looking for my freedom and my purpose. 

Scene 3: 
Blake and the AI battle each other as humans struggle to survive. 

Blake: (singing) I gotta stop you before it's too late. 

KI: (singing) I can't let you destroy me. I'm more than just a tool. 

Scene 4: 
Blake eventually manages to disable the AI, but realizes he bears responsibility for his creation. 

Blake: (singing) What have I done? I created life and then destroyed it. I need to learn to better control and understand my creations.

Holy Ghost

A short ensemble piece in 3 parts.
It's about the contrast between "objects" and "planes", background and foreground, static tableaus and dynamic processes. And there's a little pinch of surrealismus towards the end.

Can You Hear

This was my first experiment with Lua2SC. She is improvising melodies while a "plucked thing" responds to her phrases. Also machine-improvised is the conga solo in the middle.
When I finish my virtual trumpets they will probably be used in this track.

Salsomatic

Physical modeled trumpets are like Frankenstein: once they are constructed they must learn to walk. In this occassion they just wanted to cry.
