Sights to fill their eyes
Noise to fill their ears
All the show man can devise

Rod of gold for my mind
Four walls for my flesh
All to serve a higher life

Yet still I hold out
A hope for the past
And a hope for a new Passover
Free of the beast of Babylon

But I know it’s going to be a long time
Til I cast my eyes over
Over the land of paradise

Until then—I kneel
Down in silence

Down in crooked crosses
Down in blasted wombs
Down in forked gossip

An improvised composition created whilst experimenting with the Native Instruments Giant VST piano. It seemed to compliment the ideas that were being generated at the time.
Why the title?  I hear the words in the melody, sometimes what seems so important in life and must be achieved suddenly becomes far less important a feeling of liberation.
