Well, it's as good a day as any for some new music! And since it's Tuesday, that means I have something great for you to listen to today.

Please welcome Near Violet to the show for her first guest appearance. Katie has been hitting the decks hard this past year, and recorded a little something special for you.

“This first year of DJing has been incredible. Cathartic, frustrating, triumphant, humbling, but overall damn good fun. I like to think each of my mixes reflects where I’m at in my process. Anyone who’s heard me this year knows I am a sucker for sensitive, vocal-rich moments paired with driving house beats and thumping bass. I am working on knowing when to stretch those moments out and when to slap them together.

This is actually the first mix I did not meticulously curate before hitting record though; in fact this came out quite quickly in the wee hours of the morning after a long night of work. Some of these tracks are old and some I played for the very first time, and yet altogether this hour ends up being an accurate representation of my interests and moodscape these days. As with life itself, it’s important to me as I sink deeper into this craft that I continue to take chances, remain curious, and remember to have fun.”
