A year of discoveries. Thinking back through the last year, there has been a plethora of fantastic labels, and artists that have passed under the Sundays banner. This Sunday and month in general also marks the second year of monthly playlists, and guest mixes. The latter of which is our focus for today as we welcome an incredible producer, Inhmost. From beat to beat-less, his refined approach to crafting ambient mixes provides listeners with auditory tales that flow so well, all while working in a variety of moods and feelings. The first Nocturnal Wonderland took place 19 years ago on February 11. Insomniac Event's second big production, following the success of its one-year anniversary party the year before, was an exciting event. Mojo, one of the early Insomniac residents, provides a throwback vinyl mix to give a taste of the sounds one would have heard that evening. ~ About The Story ~

Everybody has a little bit of the sun and moon in them. Everybody has a little bit of man, woman, and animal in them. Darks and lights in them. Everyone is part of a connected cosmic system. Part earth and sea, wind and fire, with some salt and dust swimming in them. We have a universe within ourselves that mimics the universe outside. None of us are just black or white, or never wrong and always right. No one. No one exists without polarities. Everybody has good and bad forces working with them, against them, and within them.

"This mix was inspired by my friends, the people I am most closely connected to. I wanted to create something calm and beautiful, to offer some brief respite and escape. I might compile a tracklist at some point, but for now please just disconnect, zone out, and enjoy the mix. It was recorded in one take at home in Tokyo, October 2016. Mixtape of a selection of tracks from my ambient playlists loosely stitched together in Ableton.

I made this more for me, these are all the tracks I listened to during a personally transformative experience in the Swedish countryside lying on a trampoline staring at the sky, but I'm putting it up here as well incase anyone else likes to daydream/meditate listening to this kinda stuff. I might do a few more of these when I get the chance, hence ‘vol. 1’.

Deep Mind Music Vol.1

One fine day in the middle of May, MTG Primate Crooked Sounds was chilling with a banana, listening to the sounds of the Jungle when the idea hit him! The MTG needs to branch out into some Drum n Bass!! He gobbled the rest of his 'naana, busted out some kick ass dnb, threw it at Bulla's feet and said, "have a go at this!!" Bulla took up the challenge and brought some dirty, low slung vibes to the mix then threw it over to Linda B who chucked in some cheeky dirty sounds. Professor Prim8 heard the call and finished it off with some typical nastiness and thus the mix was born. MTGnB are proud to present our first DnB mix, Drum 'N' Apes! Enjoy!

Ambient Techno Top 50 tracks

We're taking you deep into a realm where the warmth and humanity of dub meets the cold, precise, mechanistic impulses of techno. A record like the seminal remix of "Starlight" by Model 500 (AKA Juan Atkins) is a perfect example of the power of spatiality: every element in the mix is given breathing space and, accordingly, takes on a sense of the organic. It's a work of architectural, structural, and musical genius. It's a fitting name and a perfect end to our brief insight into a world that drips with sonic richness. Pretty much every good dub techno record ever made has a similar framework like "Twelve Miles High" by Burger/Ink. Those records, and a hundred more like them, ride and roll on the kind of blissed out chord patterns that could repeat into infinity.  These are the roots of dub techno, the vast majority of tracks on this mix were made before 2000!

Campfire Stories 101 (A Forest) by Ryan Blackman

While also drawing on ambient and chillout elements, ambient-techno would be associated with labels such as Warp, R&S, Apollo & GPR. Releases focused more on albums than 12-inches. The genre also departed from dance-oriented sound heard at raves and instead saw popularity as a form of electronic listening music.

Selected Ambient - Techno Works (1990 - 2020)

Music curator and a selector. Avid record collector (cd's and vinyls) and a mixologist since the late 1990's. Radio show host from 2000 to 2009. Resident DJ from 2002 to 2012. Since the 1990's, I spend upwards to 50 to 60 hours a week listening to new releases or older music. Every mix is a curation process of several months and often more than a year (especially dub techno & ambient)
