I collaborated with Luc Cage, not to be confused with Luke Cage. Luc is a not so well known sound engineer interested in the intersection of sound, space and mood, heavily influenced by the world of Musique concrète, drawing influence from the likes of Luc Ferrari, Arnold Schönberg and John cage, Luc wanted to provide a tension of maximalism and randomness teetering on the edge of anxiety, with a mild human touch.

I contributed a set of field recordings that were re-imagined into loops as well as some sampled harp, delicately chopped stretched and reworked with the help of NI reaktor, after a few months wading through the world of hardware synthesis, it was refreshing to return to the computer, DAW and manual sound design that I started with so many years ago.

Patrick alias Psycho'pat est avant tout un passionné de musique. Plus jeune, il débute par l'accordéon, puis s'initie rapidement au mix dans un Sound System local. Il fonde l'association FluOrganik Crew début 2019, collectif avec lequel il organise l'installation de chill-out sonorisés et se consacre à la vidéoprojection psychédélique (liquid light show) dans différents types d'évènements : soirée, free, festival (Hadra, Son Libre). Son univers musical a particulièrement été influencé par la Techno/Électro des free-parties, et par la musique Chill-out des événements Trance.

I been doing these New Year Ice challenges for a few years and I suppose each year is a snapshot of whatever I was using at the time. This year, what with the Covid buggeration, meant I spent a lot of time building diy synths and modules.  I most recently built a Plinky synth, a simply lovely polyphonic digital synth and sampler. I fed it the original loop I used for the challenge in 2013 and used its outputs to trigger a DFAM and modulate fx. The decayed sax sound is the plinky oscillators fed through Monsoon
