Garood is an Iranian post-rock band which was formed in Tehran in 2018. It is among the first post-metal bands in Iran. After their first album was released, they became popular as the first Iranian post-metal post-rock band. The band's music is a blend of post-rock and ambient style. Indeed, the core of the band consists of Amirali Rezaei (Electric Guitar and Founder of the group), Kiarash Shahani (Rhythm Guitar), Soroush Fayyaz (Piano), Eric Melkomian (Drums) and Nima Jalali (Bass Guitar).  

  ‘Garood’ is short for ‘Garodman’ which means ‘Hymn and Prayer’ in Middle Persian and Zoroastrian language. It also means ‘Endless Irradiance’ in Avestan literature and ancient Persian texts.
