Three years after Reno Wurzbacher’s entry into the series, Cook Strummer now offers up his own Berlin Gets Physical, a collection of all-new and exclusive tracks.

This collection will come digitally but also as two different vinyl versions - one will be available publicly, the other is a special edition produced together with the Belgian gallery, Mazel Galerie. The cover art for it was designed by Lyon-based street artist, Brusk and the original will be auctioned by the same gallery in Brussels.

Berlin-based, Belgium-born Strummer has been a Get Physical associate for several years. He has dropped various singles including the standout 'Rising' which also featured on the Words Don't Come Easy series, and always crafts the perfect mix of rhythm and melody with plenty of hints of his homeland's famous cold wave sound. He often uses his own voice, drum machines, synths and guitars in his music, and since his debut album in 2018 on LOK Recordings, he has had high profile support from the likes of Laurent Garnier, Adam Port and Ame. This summer, he dropped 'Atmosphere' on Obsolet Records which proved another successful outing and now Berlin Gets Physical finds him digging deep into the famous city's freshest and most essential house sounds across 15 well-sequenced tracks.

His own new offering 'For Berlin' kicks off with a dark and edgy vibe, gothic vocals and tense drums. Glitchy hits and blurting synths add to the prickly atmosphere and immediately lock you in while Los Cabra & Manuel Sahagun's 'Italian Groove' then takes off on waves of serrated dark disco synths and Freudenthal feat. Nowhere People continue that macho disco vibe with the rugged chug and cosmic rays of 'Cipher.'

The twinkling 'Bad Karma' by Marvin Jam & Le Mythe then allows you to catch your breath with a slower, more spacious dub disco sound and the twanging bass riffs and exotic effects of Daniel Jaeger & Valenti's 'Quarantine Cowboys' rebuilds the atmosphere with some innovative house blues. The mid-section brings brain-frying synth work on 'Out Of The Blue', bubbling dub house and disco courtesy of dramasquad's sprawling 'ziggy' and percussive deep house looseness from 'Abayomi.'

After KEENE's rubbery and rolling Afro sounds comes more cosmic house richness from Dan Buri and Max Joni & MUKKIMIAU, the driving tech of Red Pig Flower & Lulla and heady sounds of Mike Book. There is a raw house heaviness to FreedomB's 'State of Shock' and things shut down with Electronic Elephant's tightly coiled minimal drum funk on 'Ask Yourself'.

This on point collection is an authentic snapshot of the contemporary underground sound of the Berlin.

David Hasert and Minoas Cirillo combine their skills for a standout new single on Get Physical Music that comes with a remix from the legendary Thomas Gandey. 

German DJ and live act David Hasert is the founder of LIKE Records. His low-key but atmospheric sound fuses deepness, dub and house music into captivating basement sounds. For this one, he links with fellow Cologne-based LIKE artist and sometime collaborator Minoas Cirillo. 

Their 'Break Silent' (Extended Club Mix) is a brilliant mix of well-crafted breakbeats and icy hi hats. It's an atmospheric tune with warm pads, rising chords and an emotive male vocal full of dusty soul and real feeling. Shimmering melodies light up the track to add an extra layer of richness that is sure to leave an indelible mark on the dance floor. 

Thomas Gandey aka Caged Baby is a prolific underground presence who has finely tuned his expressive minimal sound over the years on a wide range of influential labels. Here he spins out the original into a stripped back cut with big, frazzled bass that bounces beneath the original vocal as tripped out pads and effects take the tune into a wholly different realm. 

This new package offers stylish club sounds with a contemporary twist.

Following a standout remix offering from Gorge in 2019, Karol XVII & MB Valence’s ‘Whispers’ feat. Lazerusman makes another appearance on Déepalma as label regular Ucha delivers a striking rendition alongside a 2022 retouch of the original track.

Kicking off with the remix, Ucha dives straight into the depths of funk-inspired afro vibes centring around Lazarusman’s gripping vocal topline. Slapping guitar riffs and soulful bass runs glide alongside a subtle core of afro beats and live instrumental sampling to deliver a culturally authentic experience that you can’t help but dance to.

The 2022 retouch rounds off the release in a delightfully deep fashion. An instantly late-night feeling cut with stripped-back grooves and endless layers of intricate harmonies, complemented once again by Lazarusman’s hypnotic lyricism and creating a dream-like state filled with analogue richness and hardware prowess from start to finish.

Swiss scene mainstay Kellerkind brings his uniquely soulful house sounds to a new EP on Get Physical Music. 

Marco Biagini hails from a small rural town but has made his mark throughout his homeland as an irreplaceable figure in the electronic scene. Inspired by a long love of Chicago and deep house, he has constantly brought his own spin as a DJ and producer. Now no stranger to the top of the Beatport charts and high profile support from influential selectors, he is a mainstay at labels like Stil Vor Talent and makes a great impression with this Get Physical Music debut. 

Heartfelt opener 'Somebody' is the sort of dynamic but loose deep house that gets a smile on the face of knowing crowds. Its bass is warm and bendy, and the synths bring texture, while a spine-tingling contemporary soul vocal is the perfect finishing touch as the catchy groove rolls on. The excellent 'Physical Aspects of Disco' shows another side to this artist's sound: it's a colourful and playful disco-house fusion with rich chords and a vocal full of character. The energy builds throughout so that the dance floor will erupt after the breakdown. 

These are two stylish and sumptuous tracks from Kellerkind.

A lot has happened in the last 20 years of dance music, but one constant has been Get Physical right at the sharp end of the scene. The label has become a globally recognised symbol of quality, renowned for its always varied and vital house output. Forming the backbone of the label's vast catalogue is the influential in-house DJ mix series, Body Language. It is a snapshot of exactly where the underground is at and has been assembled by tastemakers such as Azari & III, Catz ‘N Dogz, Dixon, DJ Hell, Francesco Tristano, Nôze and of course label-founders Booka Shade, DJ T., and M.A.N.D.Y..

Next to that there has been a constant stream of innovative, dance-floor ready singles, crossover club classics, seminal remixes and a number of standout artist albums. The label has always stayed true to its house roots, but with a rich array of influences taken from the worlds of disco, deep, tech and melodic house.
