Today, Desert Hearts Records holds high our brother in arms, Marbs, as he makes his debut on the label with his Tusks & Tales EP. As the visual artist for the label, musician, and founding member of Desert Hearts, Marbs embodies the beautifully multi-faceted culture that this community has come to represent. 

Tusks & Tales is a journey through the intricately introverted mind of Marbs, a delicate and sonically melding exposé of the highs and lows fans have experienced in his performances for years. From the uplifting lead and spaced out chords of ‘Tusks & Tales’, to ‘Loveish’s emotive strings and intention setting Ray Charles sample, to the ethereal warmth of ‘Pink Skies’ created with atmospheric pulls from Dark Side of The Moon, Marbs turns from light to dark as seamlessly as the desert day turns to night. 

The EP also helps welcome Barcelona native T CHES to the Desert Hearts Family with his late  night rendition of the title track - a head down, hands in the air remix of the inspiring original. 

"For my first EP I wanted to put something out that explored all the various sounds I enjoy. Not just deep, not just tech, but tracks that had a little of everything. I wanted the EP to embody many of the sounds you hear at Desert Hearts and the influences that brought me to who I am today." ~Marbs

Fresh after the burn and after an enormous summer with continuous showcases in Scorpios (Mykonos), Woomoon (Ibiza)for our next premiere we have LUM aka Sebastian Gandine delivering us a soulful and meditative EP on Kindisch. 

LUM emerged from the jungles of Tulum to bring an EP for the purest of music lovers. Having already released on labels like Kompakt and MULTI CULTI, LUM now brings his medicine to Kindisch. Selva is a piece of art that might go unnoticed to the untrained ear – it’s the nuances, the twists and turns that bring the EP to life in a beautiful way. From the low organic tones of ‘Toé’, to the undeniable groove of ‘Respira’, LUM demonstrates his ability to create directly from the heart. Alongside the two originals is Nu’s extended mix of ‘Toé’, where he takes the torch and carries it further, deeper into the jungle night, helping us escape even further into ourselves. The boys of Dance Spirit also deliver a remix, giving ‘Respira’ a touch of tech house and underlining the mood in all the right ways. A track for the floor, early, late or after-hour – it’s always the right time.

We gathered over 35 artists, from 22 different countries, to bring us these original tracks, with lyrics in 8 different languages. In their recent album “A Twice Told Tale” Santi & Tuğçe tell timeless tales full of wonder and yearning for life despite the transience of all things. With “A Twice Told Tale – Reworks” a new cast of storytellers comes on board and takes these tales in new directions. Faithful to the heart of the original, yet full of creative spark, each new interpretation offers us new surprises. In this first chapter, Istanbul based producer Oceanvs Orientalis presents a bold, fiery retelling of “Kuyu” (The Well) which offers a peak into the deep, invisible corners of the heart, while Berlin based producer Martin Roth presents a mellow, mesmerizing retelling of “Bulut” (The Cloud) which describes the perpetual cycle of change and metamorphosis in nature.
