Since 2002, Henrik Schwarz’s music has successfully striked a balance between electronic, classical and jazz. He has applied his unique style to the likes of Stevie Wonder, Claptone, Coldplay, Mary J. Blige, and London Grammar, and garnered support from the likes of Pete Tong, RUFUS DU SOL, Dixon, ÂME, Diplo, Bonobo, and Anja Schneider. Now Schwarz makes his Anjunadeep debut with his remix of Lakou Mizik & Joseph Ray’s ‘Lamizè Pa Dous’, taken from their upcoming album ‘Leave the Bones’. 

Melancholic and evocative, ‘Lamizè Pa Dous’ focuses on one woman’s search for support and meaning. Singing the words “misery is not sweet”, she is pleading with her friends, her community, and the angels to help her get to a better place. Beautiful yet brutally sad, the eventual lyrics “Bondyè rele’m m prale” signal that it is too much and she has given up - “God is calling me and I’m going to go.”

Schwarz exacerbates the original melancholic tones via a jazzy chord progression and a dissonant hard-hitting hook. The remix is the second of the Leave the Bones album campaign (out August 6th). Announced via NPR World Cafe with first single ‘Ogou (Pran Ka Mwen), the album has already garnered support from BBC Radio 1, Radio 3, and Radio 6, NPR, KCRW, KEXP, CRACK, and Songlines.

Out today, July 28th, Anish Sood releases his first track as Anyasa marking the beginning of his transition to a new artist name and signature sound.

‘Rasiya’ is the first single from Anyasa’s debut four track EP Gaya, and it sets the tone for Anish’s new style which is a unique blend of electronic production that has become his trademark over the past decade and Indian classical vocals that represent his roots. Gaya, a derivation from ‘Gaia’ the Greek goddess of Mother Earth, is an ode to feminine energy, the raw creative force from which all artistry is born. 
 
This sentiment is personified by the four stand-out singer/songwriters who have contributed to this EP – Isheeta Chakravarty, Bawari Basanti, Avneet Khurmi and Amira Gill. Each of them have collaborated with Anish to create a sound that is emotive and evocative. A series of Instagram and Spotify discoveries resulted in this collaborative journey – one layered with unique textures owing to Anish’s unconventional use of classical vocals with contemporary house and techno production.
 
What started off as an experimental project during lockdown turned into a process of transformation with Anish finding himself gravitating towards this new sound. “It’s almost like this transition was meant to happen at this point in time” says Anish, and that led to the name Anyasa which means “spontaneous and effortless” in Sanskrit.
 
Having started his music career in 2008 at the age of 18, Anish played a huge part in shaping the dance music scene in India and is no stranger to the global platform. At the forefront of the electronic music movement in the country, he’s toured alongside a wide array of acts ranging from Dixon and Black Coffee to David Guetta and Kygo, while performing at global festivals including Tomorrowland Unite and Electric Daisy Carnival as well as co-writing a song with the Black Eyed Peas. 
 
However, this EP marks a special milestone. Anish is the first Indian artist to be signed to Anjunadeep, the label founded by Above & Beyond and named after the infamous Anjuna Beach in Goa, close to where Anish lives. On being the first artist from India to appear on the label Anish talks about how “Anjunadeep is a globally revered label and a dream for any electronic muisician to work with” and that “I couldn’t have dreamt of a better home for this EP”. 

Gaya is slated for worldwide release on 12th August, while Rasiya, the first look into this new sound is out on the 28th of July.

Bio - From Rosario, Argentina, to the whole world. Based in his natal city, this young dance producer has no limits. 

Referenced by old  metal bands like Tool, Pantera, Anthrax; and more grungy like Alice in Chains and Incubus among others and almost every kind of music genre. 

Started playing guitar at a very young age and then, on his late adolescence, started the path and transition to dance floor electronic music. 

Besides his short and shy career on the market, he already got the attention from all kind of artists from the scene, like Tale of Us, Adriatique, Solomun, Øostil, Fur Coat, Fideles, Dubfire and many more. 

His music got played in festivals all around the world, EDC, Afterlife, Loveland and the list goes on.

Bruno’s music flows constantly, always experimenting with new sounds and trying to caught people attention with a whole new style. Magnetik, Running Clouds, Pursuit, Astral, are some of the labels where you can find his music.

Grammy nominated engineer, producer and songwriter Steven Weston has engineered for the likes of Rudimental and Chronixx as well as having toured the world playing keyboards for the likes of Ladyhawke, Charli XCX and Mikky Ekko. His label Blank Dust is borne out of a love of electronic music and the hours he’s put in over the years collaborating with other artists.

The first remix on this new EP comes from Simon Neale (AKA Shadow Child), working under his Polymod moniker. A former tutor of Steven’s, Polymod takes The Solent off into a completely different direction. The track, which has already been supported by the likes of Sasha, is an intelligent breakbeat version that perfectly showcases both Polymod and Weston's unique styles.

Next, Anjunadeep’s Jon Gurd reworks Dalston into a euphoric breakbeat ‘hands in the air’ moment. Having both grown up in Portsmouth, Steven used to go and watch Jon DJ in Bournemouth’s Slinky whilst he was still underage.

German electronica producer Aparde then gives his spin on Angel Saint Claire, delivering a mix that takes you on a journey through downbeat and moody territories, into the club with a four-to-the-floor, before taking it on the night bus home on a comedown; all in the space of 5 minutes.

Next, Mikky Ekko delivers his first ever remix for another artist, fittingly for Steven Weston who has been Mikky’s music director for the last nine years. Mikky, who is known the world over for co-writing, co-producing and performing on Rihanna’s 2012 hit Stay, delivers a glitchy and powerful remix of Everything Is Beautiful.

Alex Paterson’s legendary ambient house outfit, The Orb, round off the EP by taking The Solent and morphing it into an expansive seven minute meditation, creating some of their finest ambient output in the process.

Xia Ke is a producer/DJ based in Beijing. He has a root of alternative for being the founder of a shogaze/noise-pop band which took a significant part in the tiny shoegaze scene of China. Inspired by many melodic & ambient giants, he started to produce techno/house music in the end of 2019. In July 2021, he released his debut album "Cats Never Been Here", which supported by some talented DJs. Meanwhile he started DJing. His sets have been accepted as guest mixes by several channels in different genres so far. Xia Ke tries to step outside the boundary of any sub genres of techno or house. All his production is connected by a desire to explore the unknown.

Having shared the decks with everyone from Cubicolor to Martin Roth, and having a debut EP on Bedrock earlier this year, Canada's juSt b is swiftly becoming a name too hard to ignore. Her debut release on Balance delivers an exceptionally cerebral track that will sit flush in many sets. Also featured are four quality remixes that take in everything from deep techno, to breaks and more…

The deep beat on 'Light Sweeper' is undeniable with its mysterious energy. Glacial synths sweep the top end while being punctured by pondering piano stabs. There is bipolar nature to the production: warm and enveloping in the lows yet cold and wintry in the highs. It's a steady rhythm intent on intoxicating you.

The @audioglider remix reconstitutes the original into a thick, almost Amen breaks like direction. The synths are blown up to an optimal size and layered into a melodic sequence, keeping the original mystery. The breakdown is progressive house bliss, melancholy without being saccharine, before crashing back into the rhythm with added vocal by juSt b and soaring strings.

@jameswelsh's deep techno take is filled with percolating percussive hits and melodic arps weaving in and out of each other with total abandon. Featuring a considerably bigger kick, this is one to kickstart the main room.

The @mattrmusic remix starts off minimal with a deep meta physical engine, a hulking rhythm that slowly moves forward. Two separate breakdowns introduce a rising melody soaked in emotion, and the latter explodes into a 4/4 pattern that will sound divine on a dusty festival dancefloor.

If you're after the perfect opening track, look no further than the elegant remix from @ev3rsun. With its delightful opening 2 minute sequence, it is one part ambient and one part secret waiting to be told. It breaks into a gentle rhythm that sets the mood for what's to follow.

Kiz Pattison has teamed up with the vocal talents of Asyn, on his first solo release with us. Come A Bit Closer, is a stripped back progressive journey! Pattison has purposefully made Asyn’s airy vocal the star of the show. With added trademark effects running throughout, we think that Come A Bit Closer is Pattison’s best work to date.

With releases on Renaissance, Balance, and many other respected imprints. Mattr has gained much respect with his progressive breaks sound. His remix provides a balance between day time parties, to sunrise settings, rounding off another fantastic release that we are very proud of.

Finding deep resonance with the likes of forward-thinking arists like Max Cooper, Otik, Boards of Canada, Overmono, Jon Hopkins, & Ulrich Schnauss, Mattr has always veered towards the left-field end of the electronic spectrum, with granular synthesis, random midi-expressions and intricate drum programming at the root of his signature raw emotive productions.

Back in his hometown of Birmingham, he hosted nights at Black Box with fellow innovator Alex Banks & Maxxi Soundsystem, signing music to Faceless Recordings, Ozono, & TrippyCode. With support from Amé, Guy Gerber, & Laurent Garnier, to name a few, he went on to launch his own imprint Helical Scan with Lewyn Stan followed by Loft & Sound where he’s released a string of exquisite melters, including Primary, Spiel, & Celadon.

My first Ozorian experience had a great influence on me, both musically and atmopsherically, this is why I started diving deeper into the soundscapes I heard there and which inspired this show.

AorMos began as a DJ when he was 15 years of age and enjoyed playing electronic music more than two decades. In the beginning he was playing with the nearest sounds to the scene of House, to give a jump to Minimal at the end of 2000. And that year he got interested all the slopes of Techno, from its purer roots, spinning the more melodic vibes, deep sounds, and progressive aspects and looking always at producers and record labels that offer great quality in their productions.
In his DJ sets AorMos likes to realize the very supported and elegant mixtures of the tracks, and that the whole set has going and return of emotions, and that the energy does not decline in the session. And this way to be able to transmit a good trip of emotions.
