Italian artist Mattia Trani is considered one of the most talented young artists of the techno music landscape of recent years due to his obsessive research of new sounds, as well as use of analog instruments. The Pushmaster Discs label boss premieres his groovy new techno track "Stretch Toys" off his new 15-track feature length Scenery LP.

Speaking on his past work and inspiration for his new album, Trani says “Sure, there’s Detroit, as I’ll always love that kind of techno and it was pivotal to my debut LP joint. But in ‘Scenery’ there’s also loads of 90’ s UK stuff, be it breakbeat, drum’n’bass or whatever; and sure there’s a bit of the historic Hardgroove releases, way back at the beginning of the millennium”.

With a sonic journey that mercilessly travels back and forth in time, bringing listeners from sordid 90’s warehouses to blazing next-millennium cyberpunk sceneries, from drum’n’bass flavors to hard techno weapons or intricate ambient works, Mattia Trani managed to create one of the most ambitious techno (“techno” in its broader, more noble and visionary sense) albums you’ll ever be likely to hear.

Having shared the decks with everyone from Cubicolor to Martin Roth, and having a debut EP on Bedrock earlier this year, Canada's juSt b is swiftly becoming a name too hard to ignore. Her debut release on Balance delivers an exceptionally cerebral track that will sit flush in many sets. Also featured are four quality remixes that take in everything from deep techno, to breaks and more…

The deep beat on 'Light Sweeper' is undeniable with its mysterious energy. Glacial synths sweep the top end while being punctured by pondering piano stabs. There is bipolar nature to the production: warm and enveloping in the lows yet cold and wintry in the highs. It's a steady rhythm intent on intoxicating you.

The @audioglider remix reconstitutes the original into a thick, almost Amen breaks like direction. The synths are blown up to an optimal size and layered into a melodic sequence, keeping the original mystery. The breakdown is progressive house bliss, melancholy without being saccharine, before crashing back into the rhythm with added vocal by juSt b and soaring strings.

@jameswelsh's deep techno take is filled with percolating percussive hits and melodic arps weaving in and out of each other with total abandon. Featuring a considerably bigger kick, this is one to kickstart the main room.

The @mattrmusic remix starts off minimal with a deep meta physical engine, a hulking rhythm that slowly moves forward. Two separate breakdowns introduce a rising melody soaked in emotion, and the latter explodes into a 4/4 pattern that will sound divine on a dusty festival dancefloor.

If you're after the perfect opening track, look no further than the elegant remix from @ev3rsun. With its delightful opening 2 minute sequence, it is one part ambient and one part secret waiting to be told. It breaks into a gentle rhythm that sets the mood for what's to follow.

Pablo asked for a little intro about my set in the tie-up night with Robot Heart when I played the Mayan Warrior art car, so here we go:
Every night, when the Mayan Warrior art car leaves its camp on it’s way to the deep playa it feels pretty sublime, like a wake up call for the rave kids with this drum beats, like a ritual where they follow it’s spiritual leader, the warrior dancer follow their flagship art car, it’s getting more and more crowded, surrounded by hundreds of bikes and of course I’m super nervous entering this elevated Dj booth, shaking from the bass or is it just me? And from one moment to another I am in the middle of lasers and fire, I am taking over the booth and after a second I’ve forgotten every fear and just start playing...

Tim Branch began listening to many genres within the musical spectrum at a young age and acquired influences from uplifting happy vibes to dark underground sounds, producing a wide range of styles packed with emotion. His productions are always designed around classical instruments and analog synthesis topped with sweeping pads, straight rhythm and deep basslines, taking the listener to far away places to appreciate the purity of the music.

Mha Iri is back on @umek's label 1605 (@sixteenofive) with a solo EP after previously featuring on one of the labels mixed artist releases, and solidified herself as a core member of the imprint's roster.

Based in Australia, Mha Iri has helped shed light on her home country's techno scene with her releases on globally acclaimed imprints such as Markantonio's AnalyticTrail and Spektre’s Respekt.

Not only is she an accomplished producer who is quickly rising to international stardom, she is already a popular DJ booking in Australia and its surrounding regions. Known for her high energy sound fusing powerful melodies and punishing percussion, she combines eloquence and brutality to create a unique style of techno.

Her brutal percussion and blissed-out breakdowns create a twisted euphoria on the dance floor and this EP is another fine example of her work.

“Liquid Light” utilises call and response melody sequences and a grinding bassline to devastating effect. Unrelenting, it's a circus of sinister sounds that perfectly combine into a freak show of tantalising textures and monstrous sound design.

"Michael Beiruty has no rules or ways in the way he produces. He always starts with something different either with a Kick or a Vocal or a Synth and works his way through it.

With Galactique Ritual he started with the main Melody that he wrote and usually in his tracks he likes to tell a story, in that story there are 2 melodies competing at the beginning to find out later on that they are not so much different after all. The idea of ¨Galactique Ritual¨ is that it talks about how the stars, planets, moons and star dust are all connected and have rituals and dances that they do around the galaxy and the universe.

On the other hand, Miscellany is totally different. He usually doesn't like to use the same sound twice or the same idea every time, he always starts fresh. Miscellany means a mixture of things, if you listen to Miscellany from start to finish you'd understand how complex it is but in a very clear way."
