Passenderweise zeichnet sich für unsere #104 der großartige Musikvirtuose MIDAS 104 verantwortlich. Wie viele Produzenten von elektronischer Musik liegen auch seine Anfänge in den Tiefen des Hip-Hop verborgen. Als Berliner Kind ist es natürlich nur eine Frage der Zeit bis man eines Tages auch Berührungspunkte mit elektronischer Musik erfährt, was in seinem Fall ein sehr prägendes Erlebnis gewesen sein muss. 

Auf sein Debüt-Release im Jahr 2013 auf Katermukke​ folgten mittlerweile etliche sehr erfolgreiche Veröffentlichungen auf so namhaften Labels wie URSL​ - Einmusika Recordings​ - Crossfrontier Audio​ - Parquet Recordings​ - Dantze​. Allein die Labels auf denen der Berliner seine Produktionen bisher veröffentlicht hat liest sich wie das 'Who is Who' der elektronischen Musikszene. Solche Erfolge kommen natürlich nicht von ungefähr, so stehen seine Produktionen für eine außergewöhnlich hohe Qualität und Vielfalt. Ein weiteres Qualitätsmerkmal ist die stetige Weiterentwicklung seines Sounds, gerade wenn man sich einmal etwas intensiver mit seiner Musik beschäftigt hat, dann sticht dieser Prozess besonders hervor. Dieser Fakt lässt darauf schließen, dass wir auch in Zukunft noch sehr viel Freude mit den musikalischen Werken des sympathischen Berliners haben werden.

here is my set I played at the legendary Kiosk at KaterBlau in Berlin Sunday night for Britta Arnold's party Grrr mit Brrr ⚫️✖️

KaterBlau for me has always been more than a club, it’s a musical landmark, a playground full of surprises, a cosy and unique space to be free and one of my favourite places on earth! 

the Berlin crowd is very educated. they are in a way even spoiled with good music all the time, yet they are so open and welcoming to anything and you can see and feel that they want to support new and excited faces! 

i felt very comfortable and welcomed behind the decks even though i was beyond excited to play amongst my biggest inspirations and my legs were still shaking towards the end of my set.

the sound of the recording is unfortunately not the highest quality, but i still want to share it with you and i hope you enjoy it as much as i enjoyed playing it 🌟💫 

It was a super fun party. thanks to everyone who came, danced, cheered, showed love.

Every now and then, life calls us to slow down. To halt the plans, thoughts and responsibilities clouding our minds. To take a moment of silence. To close your eyes. To breath deeply. As summer slows its pace, the cosmic energy invites us into a deeper state of reflection. Thus, we were thrilled when Toronto artist Sam Zenn approached us with the idea to create an exclusive ambient set.

“Life can be very challenging at times,” he explained. “It’s great to have a chill and uplifting sound to lay back, relax and/or meditate with, especially since nothing connects stronger with our true inner beings other than music… food for the soul!”

Sam Zenn needs little introduction. As a DJ, he is a true chameleon, adapting to any dance floor put before him. His rich, hypnotic sound and technical dexterity behind the decks makes him stand out amongst fellow peers. The only attributes that shine brighter than his skill set are his warm, genuine demeanour and humble stance. It’s no wonder that many of the country’s top venues have booked Sam, including Toronto’s Footwork and CODA, Vancouver’s Gorg-o-mish and Celebrities, and festivals like Bestival Toronto and Vujaday in Barbados. Around the fall, witches are associated with spooky Halloween. However I found a special witch who had a different story to tell, one that doesn't involve flying on brooms, spooky cauldrons and screeching cackles in the night. 

I invited her to join my LOST series to tell a specific story close to her heart. This mix is meant to represent the life of her great-grandfather, who had the misfortune to be involved as a soldier in The First World War, spending the full duration of the war in the trenches of the far West of Flanders, separated from his family who lived in occupied Belgium on the other side of the front line. I have no idea what kind of horrors he went through, but fighting was fierce in Flanders Fields and I know that he got seriously wounded twice. Luckily he survived the war and became a strong anti-war advocate later in life. 

This podcast is not about the war itself, but about the slow and painstaking return to a peaceful life. The first half of this mix is a bit of an emotional roller coaster, with the dark shadows of the war still lurking everywhere. The second half is completely different, very peaceful and full of bliss…
