It’s been a while since we heard about Kurt Baggaley: A very creative producer from Uk.
This guy is active since early 00’s and has been self-releasing most of his music. A lifelong dedication that brought hundreds of wonderful tracks under several names. He gained attention under the alias Scape One writing for various electro and techno labels in the early 2000’s. He also writes under guises as Tau Sagitarii, Dr Futurist and Tactical Systems and somehow all his productions are connected, part of the same research yet pretty distinct. 

That’s why we proposed Kurt to go for a 2 parts Ep as we did for few projects recently. First, as Kurt Baggaley, his real name and the project where the man indulges in magical flights of synth layers paving the way for delicate arpeggios and brilliant unexpected sound intrusions. We meant to make a beautiful artist-defining selection and so pick the 5 tracks that could illustrate best his amazing sound.
2nd part, Scape One - Same guy but this is definitely more hectic and insane. You can hear a wide range of influences as he mentions himself: Afrika Bambaataa, Cybotron, Tangerine Dream, Newcleus, Art Of Noise, Human League, Kraftwerk, Ultravox, Larry Heard. We were completely stuck when we first heard these tracks, "Fall Into The Sky" feels like that astonishing epic break track you have always been looking for and here it is! Part.2 coming soon.

With releases on the likes of Distant Hawaii, Moods & Grooves and Rhythm Section, DJ and producer Hidden Spheres has carved out a distinctive sound: combining soulful house, smooth melodies and a warm, jazzy-influence.

Also hosting a monthly show on NTS titled ‘Fruit Merchant’, which has most recently evolved into a new record label and musical outlet, the Manchester-based artist this week turns in the latest contribution to our mix series.

It’s a real pick-me-up mix, both for the listener and for DJ himself - Hidden Spheres having recorded the mix “therapeutically” during a bedridden period. Full of uplifting disco, warm retro throwbacks and invigorating funky jams - we’d certainly prescribe it as the perfect listening remedy.

Phonica White’s first release gets a long-awaited reissue with a previously unreleased Lord Of The Isles remix!

As the first release on Phonica White back in 2009, ‘Galaxy’ by Japan’s Iori is an expertly crafted piece of dance oor-focused Techno, led by a rolling bassline and crisp hi-hats, with hypnotic melody patterns skittering off the surface. As we described it upon release, it’s a trippy but accessible heads-down affair that has the depth and the bite to do damage at peak-time and in the after-hours alike. A decade later, those words still ring true and as it’s now one of the most sought after records on Phonica White it’s the perfect time to revive it - with a twist.

This time we have freshened up the record by swapping original B-side ‘Urge’ with a previously unreleased remix of ‘Galaxy’ from Lord Of The Isles, the producer behind two of Phonica’s best received 12”s on the main label; ‘Year Of The City’ & ‘Greane / Gigha’. Countering the original’s functional sonics, his remix takes the track in a deeper, widescreen direction, swirling the original’s components around immersive pads and piano.

To keep collectors of the first pressing happy as well as to differentiate the two versions, the label artwork is the same Pedro Carvalho de Almeida design yet inverted and slightly tweaked to re ect the new tracklist and catalogue number.

It is a place dedicated to current waves of electronic music like deep-house, minimal and mostly to unconventional stuff.
A home for all these soulful tunes that will not only make you dance next week-end but will also take roots in your mind forever.
Non septate at all, we're definitely more focused on a special aesthetic than any specific genre.

No matter what genre it is, no matter if tracks would work better on a tight club dancefloor or at home during your coffee pause on a rainy day. If it's been composed using analog machines or a cheap laptop. If it's been shaped by the loneliness of a small town in the woods or by the pressure of the heart of a big city.
