It’s been a while since we heard from Kurt Baggaley: A very creative producer from England. He gained attention under the alias Scape One writing for various electro and techno labels in the early 2000’s. Over the years he has evolved his production into a more personalized sound using only analog and digital hardware to create a unique retro feel and crossing boundaries of electronic music with new releases for labels such as Something Happening Somewhere and Chapter 24. Kurt also uses the alias Tau Sagittarii for his ambient electronic soundtracks.

That’s why we proposed Kurt to go for a 2 parts EP as we did for a few projects recently. First, as Kurt Baggaley, his real name and the project where the man indulges in magical flights of synth layers paving the way for delicate arpeggios and brilliant unexpected sound intrusions. We meant to make a beautiful artist-defining selection and so pick the 5 tracks that could illustrate best his amazing sound.

2nd part, Scape One - Same guy but this is definitely more hectic and insane. You can hear a wide range of influences as he mentions himself: Cybotron, Tangerine Dream, Newcleus, Art Of Noise, Human League, Kraftwerk, Ultravox, Larry Heard. We were completely stuck when we first heard these tracks, "Fall Into The Sky" feels like that astonishing epic track you have always been looking for and here it is! Part.2 coming soon.

DJ Maaco did bless the Sunday ravers at our Krake Festival this year with one of his unique performances under his Detroit In Effect alias. For two hours he transformed the garden of ://about blank into a fun park of electronic music, masterclass DJ art and some genuine entertainment. Luckily we could get his approval to share the first hour of the set with our online community to listen and make some moments of this day reliveable in your minds. Valeriu Borcos and Eduard Gabia are Karpov not Kasparov, a musical game of
chess between synthesizers and drums. Beginning in Bucharest in 2009, the duo
soon incorporated an analogue visual artist and contemporary dancers into their
live performances, resulting in a theatrical show and a kind of real-time soundtrack to
the action around them. The duo’s unique dynamic creates a psychedelic synthdriven
sound, combining oriental melodies with the drive of a full live drum kit.
“Soundtrack for a game of Chess” is their debut LP, comprising a selection of the
best tracks from their previous two EPs, which never appeared on vinyl.
“Mechanical Turk”, named after a faux chess-playing machine constructed in the
late 18th century, displays the darker side to the band’s undulating sound, as the
vintage synth creates a spacey Eastern overlay to the driving bass and drums.
There are moments of downbeat jazz-infused introspection, such as the track
“Kaissa”, named after the goddess of chess, as well as the ever-onward kraut
drums of “Choose you colour gipsy dark” overlaid with the rise and fall of a pulsating
synth. Yet the record is not simply a dark synth composition, at times K not K sway
towards a more playful, experimental pop sound reminiscent of early electronic
pioneers such as Harmonia or Vangelis, while still managing to retain a modern,
otherworldly feel.
Having garnered great acclaim within their native Romania, their debut EPs also
received high praise internationally from sources such as WFMU. While last year,
Mehmet Aslan’s re-work of “Mechanical Turk” released on Huntleys + Palmers
made waves across the dance floors of the world. They’re now set to release their
debut LP on Polychrome Sounds this Summer and will be touring Europe from 
Spring onwards.

Karpov not Kasparov - Mechanical Turk

After his Kinfolk released collab with Otologic's Nick Murrary, Kris Baha makes a welcome return to his Power Station creation. A versatile five track EP that will get you through the night, one pictures Yello's virgin ketamine experiments on 'Mind Your Head' before 'Jeff' comes to the party with his mad professor dub, giving you whiplash with its belting beats and crashing guitar stabs. Originally designed as an hour long opening score for the namesake Melbourne club night, 'Around You Go' is an edited warm up tool, the crossroad between Düsseldorf and Elettronica Meccanica. If issued in 1983, '2 Nights in Armenia' would have lived on as a Cosmic classic while 'ArpB' is the listeners' exit music, a fork hanging from the power socket.

A very distinctive and insightful ep about the passing of time including plainly heartbreaking house tracks as he did so well up to now.
We've been amazed by Tony's music since the beginning as whatever he does, there's always a promise of something unexpected and a high dreaming potential..
That's what it's all about. House music for the 21st century, more conscious and lucid than ever with a hunk of optimism and faith in what the future can bring.

This musical tale starts with the unmistakable "Remember back when".. As it's name suggests, it might be an ideal flashback track, bringing back a warm and stained 90's vibe.
However, Tony is the master of evoking both the familiar and exploring the unknown, feeding your sense nostalgia while simultaneously inspiring visions of a hopeful future
As always, it's a perfect balance between dreamscape and reality as that irresistible groove deserves a very physical reaction, the urge to dance while it slowly brings out your inner-child.

"There's no future in the past" continues in a more ear-catching way thanks to his perfect straightforward arpeggio constantly pushing you combined with a round, dry and heavy bass quickly elevating the track to it's cruise altitude. The perfect example of a contemporary different dancefloor tune. 

"Together" brings your imagination back on track. Probably more abstract and hypnotic nonetheless it's power will be all the stronger.  It feels like a wonderful 6 minutes playground experience, high in the sky, a representational, half-conscious musical trip that makes your mind wonder.

Goldmin founder Romain Lanteaume aka EinKa meets Terrence Dixon for a 2nd record which is nothing but a logical suite to the one released last year.

Terrence Dixon is perhaps the only man in techno to have achieved the perfect fusion of the finished work with a concept theoretically formulated beforehand, There's not many artists being as consistent as he is in this respect. He is also one of the very few artists who dedicated his whole life to a very personal and constantly evolving ideal and of course, you can feel that lifelong research in every single tracks he recorded.. His guiding principle was the elimination of what is known as expressiveness: from the very first ones in 1995 to what he's doing now - completely unique and timeless. Whatever he does, this man knows how far he can go "too far"!

When you listen to any track of this man that his very own artistic ideal is not driven by the desire to please anyone nor make people dance. His music is not even determined by a certain aesthetic or by it's function in the club. This man's never trying to bring a certain emotion out of you by exciting some brains with already known, he just let things happen, lets subconscious talk with no limits and that's probably why Terrence's music is so touching..
Listening to this incredibly unique "halftime" on B-side, we (and hopefully you) can hear what we're talking about.. He breaks the barriers of time and space.

Following The Edge concept, both artists delivered 1 solo track each and once again, Romain sent some carefully selected music parts to Terrence to work with in order to make 2 brand new tracks / remixes out of them which could illustrate that VOID idea. Once again, these as well as the solo works bring a very spontaneous and delicate record.

[AF010] PYE CORNER AUDIO 'ISLAND OF GHOSTS EP' (w/ MORPHOLOGY REMIX) [2017]

yo yo yo, just got my hr16 fixed and hooked it up to the midi grid over here. Works pretty well, but the buttons are fucked, so that's irritating. Wanted to do something kinda vapory using the tape technique I've been doing, got some good results. The reverb comes from a Midiverb 2 I just got the other day, and then gets slammed by a dbx166 compressor.

Goldmin Music is a label based in Paris and founded in 2012.

It is a place dedicated to current waves of electronic music like deep-house, minimal and mostly to unconventional stuff.
A home for all these soulful tunes that will not only make you dance next week-end but will also take roots in your mind forever.
Non septate at all, we're definitely more focused on a special aesthetic than any specific genre.

No matter what genre it is, no matter if tracks would work better on a tight club dancefloor or at home during your coffee pause on a rainy day. If it's been composed using analog machines or a cheap laptop. If it's been shaped by the loneliness of a small town in the woods or by the pressure of the heart of a big city.
