I start a new project from scratch. I try to mix my progressive rock influences with electronic sound to create a kind of original mix. It is quite difficult to select a specific genre for me but I hope to create a good feeling to my listener.

Sailing Westerly

Felt like making a mellow track yesterday.  After it was finished, it felt like a moment I had years ago where I had finally let something that I had been holding onto in my entire life go finally.  It was a moment when my anxiety quieted for the first time that I could remember and I was able to slow down and settle for a time.

Letting Go

Rare Elements’ first single of the year offers synth-infused distorted guitar alt hard rock. The single was recorded, mixed, and mastered in December 2023 at Rare Elements’ studio on Tampere, Finland. Harri Sarpavaara is responsible for the composition, arrangement, lyrics, and production of the song. He also plays all instruments and sings on the track.

Walking in a Snake Country

A collaboration between me and the incredibly talented guitarist SeaShea(https://soundcloud.com/chris-oshea-3), that I'm thrilled to share, a captivating fusion of piano and guitar that breathes new life into my original composition, an Elegie for Piano in G minor. 
SeaShea, moved by the original piano track, has woven his strings in such a way that the piece now dances between the realms of poignant reflection and uplifting harmony, further enriching the total soundscape. 
A heartfelt thanks to him for doing me this honour, and I hope that every listener will be moved in the same way as I was.

Added some world vocal samples in the intro. I think it’s in Gaelic. Was inspired by Deshi Basara by Hans Zimmer but I wanted to give the chanting a melody. Piano progression was something I played for years and finally developed. Had no idea I had a bit of Dorian thrown in the arpeggios. There’s also some slap bass for the chorus. The strings incorporate the vocal melody and there’s also a dorian #4 in the verses. 

Lyrically, I took lines from The Dark Knight Rises. It’s basically another song of mine about self empowerment. 

Batman: “What does it mean?”
Old Wise Guy: “Fuck if I know. I just downloaded the vocal sample from online.”
