Die Orakel long time collaborator @edward gracefully reappears with a three track emission called Time Stretch. Edward’s appliance of the titular technique is not restricted to various sonic elements at all, as it extends to the tracks’ mental notes and their trajectories beyond the digital realm. 

Time Stretch fills the entire side A with vibrant sonic elements, a warm bassline along an eerie pad, all on top of a straight and punchy bass drum. La Grotta’s signature melody, plus chirps and cowbells, inject a slight touch of exotica to the musical meta-data, while time stretch artefacts refer back to a befittingly themed EP. Finally, the undercurrents of Black Sea evolve along a modulated melodic pad, a pulsating bass and beat structure, and a light 90s IDM morse figure on top of frequency sweeps.

Having impressed us so much when we last touched down at Berlin’s Hoppetosse we had to find out more about Ukrainian artist Travis. For a start, she is a System Error resident and this accolade does not come easy. Not excelling at just one genre, Travis combines a huge selection of sounds into a cohesive package. Not an easy task when moving at the speeds that she does. Being at home in the clubs of Berlin she regularly spins at all the major haunts as well as breaking out to the likes of Dimensions and Strikha Festival in her native Kyiv.

In a slight change from our normal podcast style we present something different but certainly with tones and elements of all the sounds that make up what we know and love. Travis melds all manner of bass music with lush soundscapes, increasing tempos and moods she works her magic with her break heavy sound palette. From more electro moments all the way up to drum and bass and electronica that is too obscure and breakneck to pigeonhole. Made to expand the mind this mix from Travis is most definitely one for the heads.

For a rising Turbo artist, your second release is what really makes you part of the family, culminating in a “Blood In, Blood Out” ritual held in Tiga’s basement rumpus room. “LFOs and Creatures,” Cora Novoa's second EP for the Canadian imprint, explores the terrifyingly fertile intersection between synthesizers and the unholy fiends of the nighttime world (but thankfully not Count Dracula, a deeply unhappy man).

The title track sees the Spanish techno producer and researcher harnessing previously undiscovered presets and tempos to expand the very limits of peak the as we currently understand it. Meanwhile, non-title tracks “Digital Identities” and “Self Control” push the boundaries even further, evoking a machine-only industrial warehouse rave where the conveyor belts, lathes, and double-arm extruders can finally let it all out on the dance floor. The EP closes with lead single “Oracle,” a piece of hypnotic ambient pop that will make you question whether we live in a simulation a full eight years after even Bank of America weighed in on the subject.

Now comes the uncomfortable part. Ideally, music should be free and for the most part it functionally is. But for the purposes of this discussion, we are compelled to remind you that this EP is for sale. Please try to think of it as less of a transaction and more as a symbolic gesture of the profound respect and gratitude you feel when you think about listening to our music. We keep on telling you that that’s the price of love.
