There's always a tendency at this time of year for people to focus on the things they think they need rather than being thankful for what they've already got. 

Swept along by the consumerist tide, it's so easy to lose perspective.
It reminds me of an opportunity which came our way in the late seventies when we'd relocated to the States and were gathering rave reviews from the style, culture and origami magazines. 
In fact, there's a chapter in my autobiography dealing specifically with our ahead-of-its-time TV series

He wanted to get production underway before a rival network launched their new series about a crack commando unit, sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit, still wanted by the government and surviving as soldiers as fortune. Judging by that synopsis their plan would never come together.

We cancelled the lucrative Jimmy Carter-Second-Term gig on the advice of the focus groups, all of whom were confident that Gold, Franconchamps & Murphy would be a ratings smash."

A sobering reminder that things don't always turn out how as planned....

I WAS SUCH A PRISSY LITTLE GIRL SO THE NAME "STUCK" & I'M ALSO CALLED "PRISSY"~ AS FOR "JOY" THAT IS WHAT MY FATHER TAUGHT ME the JOY IN LOVING OTHERS...SO "JOY" IS FINE...JUST THAT MISS PRISS BECAME MY NAME AS A PRISSY LITTLE GIRL.  CALL WHAT YOU WANT!!!  BUT BE KIND PLEASE~ I'M LAUGHING NOW WITH JOY~ 
I LOVE, LOVE MUSIC & LOVE TO SING & WRITE SONGS.  LOVE ALMOST ANY GENRE OF MUSIC BUT FAVOR MORE MELODIC TRACKS BUT THEN AGAIN, I LIKE METAL~ I DON'T KNOW .. 
  I HAVE FRIENDS WHO TELL ME THAT THAT NO LONGER LISTEN TO OTHER MUSIC, BUT COME TO SOUNDCLOUD TO FIND GREAT MUSIC.
   THEY'RE NOT REFERRING NECESSARILY TO THE "STARS" OR THE "GREATS" WHO HAVE MADE IT, BUT TO PEOPLE WHO LOVE TO WRITE. SING, PLAY INSTRUMENTS, ARRANGE, PRODUCE AND THEN THEY TOLD ME THAT MANY GREAT COLLABORATIONS ARE FOUND ON SC.  
    FOR NOW I SIMPLY WANT TO LISTEN AND WILL UPLOAD SOME TRACKS LATER.  I CAN'T WAIT TO GET STARTED AND TO GET TO KNOW SOME OF YOU WHO I UNDERSTAND MAKE ONE HELL OF A GREAT COMMUNITY OF MUSICIANS ETC. WHO ON THE WHOLE LOVE THE MUSIC FOUND HERE AND HAVE MADE SOME WONDERFUL CONNECTIONS AND FRIENDS. AND HELL YEAH, I'M ALL ABOUT THAT~ LOVE IT !!!!!!!
