Solid Angle - Simbad

Pamela Records is new sister label to Moton Records Inc - the London imprint headed up by Dave Jarvis & Darren House, who have carved a name for themselves in quality and very collectable edits over the last two decades. Together they launch Pamela which will house original music only, its name taken from a mass religious cult killing back in the ‘70s. It’s dark.
The first release kicks off with lord of darkness himself Andrew Weatherall. Written, produced and developed in a studio laboratory inside of the Woodleigh Research Facility.
When I asked Andrew about these tracks, he told me “The great thing about not being signed to a major a label is that it’s liberating. No deadlines, no restraints, no pressures. The result is that the creative process is completely free. There’s a blank canvas in the studio, you can pretty much go anywhere you want.”
Down an alleyway in South London Andrew Weatherall was constantly creating and filing under various categories so that he could meet the needs of the copious amounts of people he made ‘rash promises’ to deliver music to. His Moton file had gathered some weight and from this stash we arrive at his release for Pamela Records.
The tracks were written by Andrew Weatherall with studio pal Nina Walsh sharing the writing credits in part. Nina has also contributed samples from her extensive arsenal of sample weapons.

Andrew Weatherall had such a major impact on the culture of our generation, it’s impossible to think of anyone else in our lifetime who is capable of the same effect.
