Jacqui Mateo shares stories with their sound, tracing the lineage of house - from classic Chicago, Detroit, and New York to its far reaches today. Dancing between the deep, the soulful, the hypnotic, but always from the heart.

Born and raised in Chicago, Jacqui Mateo grew up immersed in music from hip-hop to house, jazz to blues. Classically-trained musicians from an early age, the two played and produced individually for years before a serendipitous glance at Smartbar collided their worlds. Not long after, in a cabin in Wyoming and beneath the stars in the Moab desert, they began their sonic journey together. They’ve since played around the world from Berlin to Burning Man, and now reside in Los Angeles. 

Individually they are Jac Høja - ethereal cellist, vocalist and sound meditation facilitator, and Saiklōn - ambient and hypnotic techno artist. The two are also a part of the founding teams of REVIVEcollective (Chicago), Motif (Los Angeles), and Pastiche (Berlin).
