The GRadio.ca festival team in conjunction with The Dream Zine are off to to some of Western Canada's greatest music festivals this summer to cover the festivals in a series of interviews to give you a behind-the-scenes look into what goes into putting on, organizing and performing some of the best music festivals Alberta and Western Canada has to offer.

The Electric Kool-Aid Festival Tour

Here is the introduction to our time at North Country Fair and indeed the intro to our summer time festival tour we are embarking on with The Dream Zine.  Here we give our initial impressions of the festival and what we would like to see during the festival and the tour itself.  

North Country Fair was an absolute blast, and we had a great time covering the festival.  Look out for interviews with K-Riz, Scenic Route to Alaska, The Party on High Street, Patrick Ennis and more!

The Electric Kool Aid Festival Tour - Intro

K-Riz, Oozeela and the band stopped by The Dream Zine and GRadio.ca booth at North Country Fair to talk about their set and their time at the festival.  There were a lot of people around the mics, and a lot of music in the background, but it was a great chat with one of our favourite performances of the weekend.  We talked about their set, the festival and what's in store in the coming months.  We also chat briefly with Jonathan of Klusterfunk who plays saxophone with K-Riz to get an update about one of our favourite local bands.

North Country Fair - Interview with K-Riz

Trevor, Murray and Shea from Scenic Route to Alaska stopped by the GRadio.ca booth at North Country Fair in between their two performances at the festival to talk about the festival and what's been happening with one of Edmonton's most happening bands.

Scenic Route to Alaska is one of our favourite local bands and they talked a lot about their love for Edmonton and it's thriving local music scene.  They spoke about some of their favourite venues in the city, where they played when they were coming up and what life is like on the road.

Curiosity Music Festival - SOOHAN

Curiosity Music Festival - Pineo & Loeb

The Edmonton-born J-Reds sits down to talk to Chandon Autumn after his performance at Curiosity Music Festival.  J-Reds is a local rapper, emcee and producer who performs extensively at electronic music festivals around Western Canada.  Known for conscious lyrics and classic hip hop styles, J-Reds talks a lot about the creative process and the dichotomy between creation and performance.

Curiosity Music Festival - Intro

Chandon Autumn of The Dream Zine meets up with classically trained pianist turned electronic producer Jay Slay before his first festival performance at the annual River Womp Music Festival.  Jay Slay talks about how he got into DJing and producing music, his musical background, and he shares some tips with marketing and promotion.

The Womp - Pre-Womp Interview with Jay Slay

GRadio.ca is an all-local and independent online radio station broadcasting in Edmonton, Alberta. GRadio.ca exists to promote local music and culture from around the city to people around the world, and strives to be a sustainable platform from which local artists and musicians can promote themselves.
