Episode 30 | Anti . Matter | Ronny Pinazza

He tries to convey the feeling of the infinite timelessness of the soul of nature with music in an understandable language. His DJ sets are always driving, ritualistic. Natural sounds and hypnotic melodies allow the listener to reach another state of consciousness.

This is how he describes his vision:
 “when time and space lose their meaning, when everyone is connected in unison to the music, united in one energy bubble, 
then the perfect state is reached. 
No thought separates us from the great unit. Only knowledge and joy move us to the beat“.

His productions are experimental, unorthodox.
Hypnotic rhythms and driving beats characterize his tracks, always filled with natural sounds.
The listener is transported in a space that seems to exist between the stars. Deep in his heart he believes in infinity and that time and space are only imaginations. His goal is to express these inner feelings with music, so in 2021 he set out to develop his musical language.

My next guest on Yax Invites is Shelley, a DJ from Bielefeld, Germany.

Shelley turned her passion for electronic music into a profession in 2019. Electronic sounds have accompanied her since childhood, and she found inspiration in the local club scene. Through long nights and countless sonic journeys, she discovered the fascination of DJing and decided to use her listening experience to create her own sets.

Driven by hypnotic and impulsive rhythms, combined with dark and dissociative atmospheres she developed through the years her own style. Today, with precise attention to detail and a very delicate touch.

It didn't take long for her style to be recognized, and she was able to create impressive sets. Also Eric Cloutier invited her to play her first gig at Tresor in Berlin where she could prove her skills in front of a decent crowd. Shelley is sure to continue creating influential sets and mesmerizing audiences.

Starting this year music exploration with a podcast by mastermind Clarence Rise, exploring subgenres of hypnotic techno and deep DnB. @clarencerise: 'For this particular podcast, I've chosen to take as many tracks as possible that are both hypnotic and very percussive, while using a fast, suffocating rhythmic progression. Like a wild hunt in the woods, it's up to the listener to decide whether to be the hunter or the hunted.' 

Over the years, French producer Clarence Rise has developed a strong, intense, and singular musical identity, where incisive techno blends with chilling atmospheres. Some describe his work as Cinematic or Cold Techno, emphasizing complex rhythms, dark sound design, and contemplative melancholy.

His style is a hypnotic and immersive blend of driving and experimental elements. Jephta achieves his unique sound through his hybrid setup, and in order to make his performances as fluent and dense as possible, he always has 4 decks open. He firmly believes in supporting local communities and has already had the opportunity to play major festivals, acclaimed clubs, and community events throughout the Netherlands. Aspiring to discover different scenes and cultures, Jephta is on a journey to expand his reach to the global music landscape.

Darkduction begins with a captivating introduction that immerses the audience in a world of ethereal ambient textures. Soft and ethereal sounds float in the air, creating an introspective and mysterious atmosphere. The choice of minimalist sounds and electronic whispers sets an intriguing tone right from the start.

As the mix progresses, Darkduction slowly introduces subtle percussive elements that begin to pulse in the background. Abstract rhythms and layers of atmospheric sounds intertwine, gradually building energy and setting the stage for the transition into more experimental terrain.

The 58th edition of the vurt podcast features a fantastic 110 minute set from Philipp Kim, a DJ working in the underground Seoul scene.

Through a unique category created by his dual activities of both DJing and working as a sound engineer, Philipp Kim creates sets that expand on the sonic aesthetic that is one of the hallmarks of contemporary deep techno. He particularly excels at expressing an organic and lifelike sound through his selection of tracks that create ambiance through the resonance of percussive rhythms and that of contemporary rhythms, made up of smaller, finely expanded particles, as well as his excellent mixing of reversals within the set's flow to dramatize the dynamics of the dancefloor. As the director of vurt’s new party, 결 Gyeol, he is also constantly broadening his creative spectrum with techno as his guiding centerpiece, and is always on the lookout for high quality, talented artists.
