Category 4 is a monthly broadcast concept from Michael Brunner [ @four4 ] for Great Circles Radio.

Each episode is broken into four segments, which are connected in some fashion, but routinely unique in many others. This allows for the drawing of comparisons between otherwise disparate concepts, while simultaneously creating enough creative restrictions to focus the musical selections.

The 21st episode comes to us from Philly-native synthesizer weirdo and DJ, Phil Yeah [ @philyeah ].

We invite our listeners to guess these categories during the show.
As an added incentive for participation, the first person to guess the categories during the broadcast will be eligible to win a prize. Each month brings new categories and prizes.

Weaving together abstracted grooves across genre, BPM and era, Malzof’s sonic journeys intersect with realms of ambient, experimental, house, techno, and beyond. Their sets enchant the dance floor with blissed-out beats, freakyfun vocals, and environmentally enhancing percussive soundscapes, ultimately showcasing their passion for storytelling, sampling, community collaboration, & dancing.

Museum Level is a Philadelphia based DJ and producer. Taking their namesake from the legendary chemist Alexander Shulgin, it’s fair to assume the music has an air of psychedelic mystery, wonder and freedom.  Expect an eclectic mix when they’re at the controls. 

2020 saw their first release entitled “New Age Cult” on Whiskey Pickle records which gained attention from DJ’s like Tim Sweeney and Horse Meat Disco. 2021 saw their next release “Myst Takes” on Days Of Being Wild which featured a remix from The Juan Maclean. In October of 2024 they released "Grounding Ritual" on Italo Deviance with a physical release slotted for early 2025.
