This PL i dedicate to the more smoothin' groovin' and definately moooovin' songs and tracks i encounter, which i find somewhat "cool" and highly enjoyable and melodic, somewhat toe-tapping and beard twirling songs. Something between becoming maybe a touch funky ,spacey, slightly crazy n dreamy, 60,70,80s vi-bey, sexy, soundtrackalike and way toooooo much enjoyable to be NOT put on a list :). Lets call it .... the "grand" feeling, while listening to those. 

Too hard to start dividing all my otherworldly listen experiences right down to each artist , gotta collect em somehow, so please apologize if you might encounter something in this list which you did not exactly "expect" :)

This is a dub that my friend Eddy from The Netherlands made up. He sent me the bass and guitar and I added some lead guitar, organ and synth. I LOVE reggae, and dub in particular. Eddie gave me a really solid track to work with. I hope you like the result.

It’s a joy creating with Stoney (https://soundcloud.com/stonecatcherye) again. He’s a great guitarist, great singer, and writes genuinely evocative lyrics; and he’s the catalyst for today’s ‘stuff to think about’ write-up.

This song is about the various aspects of thinking. We can probably all agree, the mind is a noisy beast. If you’re in a good space, it can be a very loving voice. But if you’re like the rest of us, it can be a cesspool of swirling noise and emotion.

Lets focus in on the word cesspool, and what that suggests. A cesspool is defined as a container of standing liquid, where waste and sewage reside. What keeps it a cesspool? The fact that nothing fresh ever comes in to clear out the pollutants. Its stagnant, and it’s rotting. 

Now let’s superimpose that idea onto our thoughts. As soon as we’re capable of storing thoughts, society is all too happy to fill that storage for us; logically skewed to its perspective. I often ask myself where my ideas came from, and the honest answer is always… elsewhere. There really are no original ideas in our heads; only variations on themes we’ve learned over our lifetimes; combinations of ideas we’ve been influenced (or forced) to accept as true. 

And once the vessel is full, it usually gets left alone. They did their job. We’re somehow now willing to store that refuse on their behalf. Left alone, it becomes stagnant. Without fresh material coming in to stir up the waste, we get trapped with some pretty funky material; probably best not to touch it, but it’s in our heads, and we’re stuck being the keepers of other people’s sewage. It’s all a little dizzying. But what to do?

This is where the ‘Waders of Consciousness’ come in. It’s time to don the rubber pants, head to the deeper parts, and start cleaning the tank. We do this by lifting each idea up (remember to wear gloves), studying it very carefully in the light, and deciding if it’s worth washing off… or if we should permanently dispose of it. This is a big clean-up job, but the benefits are massive. When we’re done, we get to enjoy a clean storage tank; free of all the other people’s garbage we’ve been holding for so many years. Here’s the catch. We have to keep it circulating with fresh ideas in order to keep the stagnancy at bay. It’s a lifetime commitment, but the work is so very worth it.

QUICK STATUS UPDATE: I admit, my autistic brain is really struggling with the world lately. I'm all about people taking the high road; and treating each other with love and compassion. I also assumed government, religions and businesses ran on some form of humanitarian ethics. 

Needless to say, a disturbingly large part of the world and I aren't seeing eye to eye lately. And because of my recent adventures with sobriety, I initially determined I needed to stop doing things that mess with my mental well being (like supporting businesses that don't function properly, and don't support their customers). 

But let's face it... this weirdness is happening pretty much everywhere. And hermitting my way through the rest of my life is not a healthy or productive option. I'm a creator... I feel my greatest sense of purpose when I'm creating... and I enjoy being able to share those creations. 

It also helps make my life feel more purposeful, knowing my music and writings may be doing some good in the world (a huge thanks to my SC friends for messaging me your thoughts. You inspired me to rethink my choices).

So long story short, I decided to keep my SC subscription going. Granted, I still need some time to reimagine how I can connect with this community. But for now, I think I'll at least keep things were they are. And you'll be happy to know new songs are already in the works. :)
