An infectious groove is one of the most important elements to everything I purchase and play. Closed eyes, a swaying motion in the hips, a looseness of the shoulders, and a polyrhythmic shuffle to the feet - these are the signs that the audience has checked themselves out of the present and gone to nirvana. It would be a lie to say that I don’t gravitate towards the trance elements, the shuffling drums, and the structured basslines - 20yrs of my recordings that have been floating around the internet would prove that to be a paramount character of everything I present to the audience. So with this mix, I wanted to encapsulate all the wiggling and swerving that I encourage my crowd to have with this upbeat, tripping, energetic mix of vibes I’ve amassed over time. Time to get twisty with episode six of “The Arsonist & The Architect,” appropriately titled “Chicane.”

This is my tenth "music therapy" session and my first time playing Lofi music. We were vibing away during stream and decided to extend the set to 4 hours. My goal with these sessions is to upload the mix regardless of imperfections. It’s helping me fight against my perfectionism, play around with my music library, focus on the fun, and push myself with my skills instead of playing it really safe to ensure a clean mix.

The latest entry in this deep and meditative Mood Series brings a refined blend of minimal, dub-infused textures with a sharp sense of rhythm. From the first track 'A Piece Of Hope', the rolling shuffle and warm bassline hint at house influences while keeping a stripped-back, hypnotic flow. Lingering chords and subtle vocal touches add melodic depth, making it a well-rounded dancefloor selection. 'Closer' is more into headier territory, building tension with taut percussion and looming chords. The arrangement keeps things fresh, with rhythmic stops and shifts that create movement while maintaining an immersive, weighty groove. The evolving chord work, particularly in the latter half, gives the track an engaging, dynamic feel that holds attention without overcomplication. The title track introduces a more organic approach, weaving in natural sounds and intricate, live-feeling percussion. The deep, rolling bassline anchors the groove, while atmospheric elements subtly shift in the background. A gated breakdown at the midpoint adds a dramatic edge before smoothly returning to its steady pulse. I have not been able to recover access to my other account [https://soundcloud.com/ha-kekong] for a couple of years.  I have tried a few times to get back into it but SoundCloud doesn't trust me.  Same phone number, same email addresses, and they still claim that they can't verify my identity.  I created that account about three years ago as a substitute to my regular account which SoundCloud temporarily closed.  They closed it as part of some upgrade procedure in their system, the result of a bug that affected many accounts, about two years ago.  Since SC did not inform its users I didn't know if that was permanent or not, so I created that other account which I can't access. No it's not Gibraltar, but a little bit further West. ...
