There's names in the paper today,
Obituaries from friends and family.
And they're giving those involved all of their heart.
But the names belong to those inside the grave.

Well I'm drinking more and more each day,
And I'm smoking enough to give my breath weight.
And I'm sleeping in too long, and listening to sad songs,
Well what have I done?

When the lights go down, and I'm laid into that ground,
What goes upon my stone? What have I done.

Every newspaper gives me reason to hate,
And I must close my mind just to escape,
Tales of woe and of war, greedy men and open sores,
And the good guy always comes too late.

What the world needs now is healing instead,
And I can preach that from the comfort of my bed,
And I can tell the human race we just keep on making mistakes,

Written about the experience of reading about the Northern Territory Intervention from a position of privilege, this song is intended both to respond to the Northern Territory Intervention, to empathise with the communities impacted by the Intervention, and to imagine a possible future in which this applies to all of our communities. The track is recorded with Craig Kelly (Bass) and Fred Holden (Violin) with assistance from Myles Mumford (Audio) and Agostino Soldati (Video). 

Airport Traffic

Written about a share-housing room in Faraday Street, Carlton- a  share-house for thirty-something years. An old affair ended and a new life began in Faraday. Recorded by Myles Mumford, in a house in Northcote, with the help of Agostino Soldati. Craig Kelly on Bass and Fred Holden on Violin.
