Discopatrick is a well respected record collector and DJ from The Netherlands with one of the finest disco acetate collections in the world. Patrick has developed two books in collaboration with Patrick Vogt, the second of which issued in 2014 provides an extensive visual history of disco and boogie culture with over 2000 album cover designs (including hundreds of full size covers) as well as over 700 12” sleeves. 

As well as a comprehensive visual document of the era, the book comes complete with interviews of a number of important disco figures, histories, biographies and discographies of all the major disco labels.

Since then Patrick has been developing an online and printed (on demand) magazine series 'Hot Stuff' and has very recently completed his 9th issue which you find on his website.

For show 36 we have the multi talented Los Angeles based DJ and graphic designer The Alaia grace us with another super dope all vinyl mix!

Born and raised in LA on KDAY, The Beat, and Funkmosphere, The Alaia is attracted to music that has a feeling of perpetual summer and heat: soulful boogie funk, sexy disco, smooth g-funk, hard gangsta rap. She aspires to play music to make you bounce, to get you off your ass, to makes you want to cry, to make you wanna go home with a stranger, to makes you feel tuff enough to catch an attitude. 

Always discovering and rediscovering, she collects and selects vinyl and cassettes mostly, with some CDs here and there. She’s graced the Dublab and NTS airwaves, contributed a guest mix on Dash Radio, holds down a casual monthly residency on local online radio station VPN Radio, and has contributed guest dj mixes to an array of music selector series’ worldwide.

DJ Friction was born in 1970 near Stuttgart in Southwest Germany. He began mixing and collecting Records in 1985. After competing in various DJ battles (such as the DMC German Championships 1991) he had his first residency in a club in Stuttgart in 1991. 

During the same year he began producing for local rappers and singers and throughout the 90's he was mostly known as a hip hop DJ and as a founding member, DJ and co-producer of the chart topping rap trio Freundeskreis who were responsible for 2 gold selling albums.

In recent years he's also made a name for himself in the disco-edit scene with his respectful edits of disco funk classics and rarities which he's been releasing on his label own Replay Records since 2003. Check out his edits and other work below.
