On May 6, 2019, my very close friend and Bar Fines collaborator, Bret Heide, lost his life unexpectedly while undergoing a surgical procedure.  When Bret died we were in the process of working on this song, a song that had sprung from Bret's phenomenal musical imagination several months prior.

Just two days before his death we worked on this song, unknowingly collaborating musically for the last time.  He would never get to hear the finished version.

For the consideration of our SoundCloud friends and followers, Up The Muddy River.  The final song written, recorded and produced by The Bar Fines.

On May 6, 2019, my very close friend and Bar Fines musical collaborator, Bret Heide, lost his life unexpectedly while undergoing a surgical procedure.  He was 56 years old.  

Bret had the audacity to bare his soul through music and had always hoped that one of our songs would make him a rock star.  To me, he already was.
