From what i have seen in people of my generation social media is a means of facilitating and promoting rampant Narcissism.So many people i know use it as a means to put value on their self worth and self esteem.Constantly wanting compliments and approval of others.I find this mindset particularly damaging to young women who seem to think that the only way in which to be noticed and become popular on social media is to always be judged and valued based on physical appearance alone. Rather than their own unique opinions,goals,achievements ect.
