Wandering a vast alpine valley in the Southern Alps, beech leaves on the track, golden tussock on the flats, grey rocks in the river, and glaciers looming at the head of the valley.

FAVOURITE PARK BEVERAGE?
A well made dry heritage cider that doesn’t mind getting a little warm with some slow sipping.

SUMMER 23/24 ALBUM/JAM?
I just came across 2020's Flux and Contemplation by Simon Posford which is now in regular rotation for calming my mind. Not a jam per se, but a real absorbing journey.

SANDALS OR JANDALS?
Sandals for now, but when they finally lose contain, maybe jandals.

ANYTHING ELSE TO ADD?
This mix ended up with a bittersweet melancholia about it. It feels like saying goodbye to a dear friend who’s going away for a long time.

Mixed on vinyl, 2 turntables and two volume sliders... 

This is my improvisational style, records grabbed last minute, some tracks never played before in a mix, some I barely knew bc I forgot or just bought, etc... all but one mix never done before (and the last time I did that one was prob 1999).... Why, though?? It's an outgrowth of attention issues, I leave shit to the last minute and like things to feel fresh or exciting... but over time, it's also become a matter a belief in one's vision and touch, a benefit of mastery and age, but also, of feeling as alive as possible in the moment.... Sometimes the result is nice, other times not... An upside of this style is that the present moment infuses the set, which highlights that it's a one of a kind experience never to be repeated .. but it's recorded... ooh, the irony... save that topic for later lol...

Our next 1984 guest DJ Marcelle has a similar "on the fly" approach, surely I was doubly inspired (inclined in the first place to book her for that, and last night felt it a bit more intentional)!

Their highly-curated selection ranges from porros, gaitas, rebajadas, to rare tracks and beloved classics - all on 45s.

Ritmo Santanero stands out as an artistic contender in the Southern California sonidero scene as the trio expands out of Santa Ana and into Long Beach, and Los Angeles - bringing the best all-vinyl cumbia night to a town near you. Spinning a mix of cumbia genres from of all corners of the world, Ritmo Santanero is reviving the once-dormant sonidero culture of the 90’s, yet deviating from the announcement-heavy tradition by letting the music do the talking.

Welcome again to Dinger Fizz! This is also a guest show. Griasdi Peter!

If you've been looking for interesting, funny and very carefully selected music on the Internet, you might have already come across Peter's Soundcloud channel. He regularly irregular releases mixtapes of a more special kind, often based on a theme, a region or a language. But he also likes to simply dj lively original music from the past and present (which is then based on the past). ;). It can be edgy, unexpectedly satisfying and simply very smooth for everyday life. Often real, non-electronic instruments play a major role in his mixes and of course vocals! 

Dinger Fizz, with its demand for music with real people on the drums, is home territory for Peter. So here comes an hour of upbeat drum music. With covers, originals and undiscovered gems!
