PR: Handstitched* is pleased to announce the next split-artist release by X.Y.R. and Danny Scott Lane. A series of evolving limited-edition issues are released on both mini CD and C45 cassette and will focus on two artists - limited to 50 copies per release. Each of the formats have hand-crafted packaging, unique, hand-printed covers for the CD and hand-made cassette sleeves for the pro-dubbed tapes.

Vladimir Karpov is a prolific electronic musician and producer under the pseudonym X.Y.R. He creates sounds that are immersive and hypnotic, and has previously released an impressive back catalogue of music on the wonderful Constellation Tatsu and Not Not Fun Records, amongst others, the amazing X.Y.R. release Robinson Crusoe (Lost Soundtrack) on Singapore Sling Tapes first caught our attention at Handstitched* back in 2012 and he subsequently released Waves T*​pes Vol​.​1 on Handstitched* in 2015.

This new piece; Temple Of Solitary Reflections was originally created, but subsequently modernised for one of the audiovisual installations (on the subject of a human / megalopolis collision with nature) for an exhibition at the Vinzavod Gallery in Moscow, Russia in 2020 (due to a pandemic, the event was postponed indefinitely). This work is a kind of meditation session, during which there is an establishment of internal connections with nature, with nature itself, in order to find the optimal balance between beauty, fears and spiritual insight. X.Y.R. applies to his music; analog synthesisers (formanta-mini, korg m1), loop station and field recordings.

Danny Scott Lane is based in Los Angeles and aside from his dynamic photographic and directing skills he also captivates us with his musical adventures, having released music on Moon Glyph, Schematic and Shimmering Moods. UNTITLED is a collection of six songs that weave and tug on the listener's emotions, melodic segments, mindful movement and glimpses of far-eastern, broken rhythms keep a tight-grip on the mind, body and soul - UNTITLED is subtle and deep but inextricably upfront with an individual essence.

It was such an honour to be part of the latest Handstitched release. 
Tim, who runs the label has built such a beautiful series - not only wonderful music but lovingly crafted, handmade sleeves and packaging, each one a gorgeous work of art. 
The release I shared with Ian Hawgood was another perfect example of this, I really was blown away when I saw them, so so lovely.

I’ve put together a mix of some tracks from the label, from a selection of Tim’s albums and collabs under various names, to the other LPs that make this such a special label.

Fields We Found 'Tracing New Paths' Mix (Handstitched* showcase)

Le projet RV de Arnaud Laffond propose d’explorer les différentes «galeries» du cerveau, qui pourraient être assimilées à des éléments qu’on retrouve dans une grotte qu’il s’agisse de souterrains, de galeries, de gouffres, de stalagmites, etc. L’expérience traite des symptômes post-traumatiques dûs à un isolement mental et physique.

L'artiste français m'a invité à créer l'univers sonore de cette expérience et j’ai travaillé sur la création d’environnements sonores générés à partir de captations effectuées dans la Grotte de la Balme.

Ouvala are Ian Hawgood and Tim Diagram, their first album "Psychology Of Colour" was released on Fluid Audio in 2016.

Ouvala "Multiperspectivity" is the most-recent handiwork and features nine collaborative pieces, thrown back and forth several times. It is a characteristic of sound, short stories and mystical adventures where both musical  perspectives are projected to the listener. 

All songs written, recorded & mixed by Ian Hawgood and Tim Diagram  2016-2018 on location in Japan, Poland and the UK.

Windbreak single produced in early June of 2020 in the peak of seclusion in Snezhinsk, Russia where I accidentally confounded for several mounts far away from my natural habitat, friends and family. 
This piece is one of the few that resulted from my attempts to adjust in forced situation and find a ways for music creation in given situation and tools. 
Windbreak resulted from my exploration acoustic properties of current living place and ambiance around it with use of tape machines and various texturing techniques of digitally synthesized melodies.
