After two years of silence Alpenglühen returns with a new release by Jaime Romero aka Estrato Aurora. Jaime is an old acquaintance of the label as he is a member of Pajaro Dune with David Ortolá who were who kicked off the label in 2017. The ep margin is a turning point in the label since you will not find only deep techno, which until now had been the characteristic sound of Alpenglühen. In this fourth reference you will find downtempo, halftime, breaks, even ambient, and of course some touches of profound techno that make this reference the most heterogeneous and also one of the wealthiest of the series. Of course, while still exploring the thin line that separates light from darkness.

Clarence Rise is a French techno producer and DJ, whose sometimes dark but always introspective music draws on his deep connection with nature and the twists and turns of the psyche. His compositions combine complex rhythmics with organic sound design, diving listeners in hypnotic, immersive soundscapes.

Observing the ever-changing scene and dance floor, @einox strives to resonate with the people who stand upon it. The purpose of his music is not techno as a genre itself, but rather the manipulation of the collective neurons and central nervous system of the crowd. Over the past two years, he has begun to experiment with his sound within the broader spectrum of electronic music. With the resurgence of ’90s dance music- particularly from the UK - he seeks to explore, in his own way, the particle accelerators of Breakbeat, DnB, and Jungle that have re-emerged.

Einox experiments with the avant-garde of contemporary culture and sensibility through diverse forms such as sound, electronic music, curatorial practice, and critical writing. Exploring the speculative boundaries of techno, IDM, and leftfield, they have collaborated with international labels including Affin, Semantica, and Crescent London. In April 2024, Einox was featured in Mixmag Asia’s “Artists Exciting Us in 2024.” Currently based in Seoul, Einox is pursuing a PhD in art studies while working as co-director of the art space Faction and the label GUCHUK.

Gytis Abromas or @tagensiju is one of the founding members of Black Wave collective. He has long been a quiet yet consistent force within Lithuania’s underground scene. 

It's been way too long from his last appearance on the podcast, 9 years, actually. Welcome back, friend!

Originating from the seaside, his sound weaves between electro, techno, and ambient—approached with precision, subtle restraint, and emotional depth. His path began in basement sessions with friends, borrowing CDJs and chasing textures, rhythms, and moods that resonated. That same spirit of exploration continues to shape his music today.

Continuum: a coherent whole characterized as a collection, sequence, or progression of values or elements varying by minute degrees.

We all have core memories of special dancefloor moments. Audience fully hypnotised, beating as one, lost in the music. Pure instinct, and the wildest spirit within each one shining through. Some artists have an uncanny ability to channel that. And today we present 2 masters at making those moments happen, via Perpendicular Festival 2025. Part of the Ouroboros takeover on Friday night, their performance at the event was one for the books. 

Toé, one of the minds behind EWO collectif and the Ouroboros project, has been mesmerising audiences with some stellar performances. A testament to it was her set just a couple days ago on her home turf, when we witnessed her sorcery at the peak of it's powers. With music that taps into the most feral and primal, it's hard to explain the purity of the feelings she conveys with her mixes. One thing is for sure, Toé has an ability to get your inner animal manifest on the dancefloor. 

Vardae needs no introduction at this point. His releases on Samurai Music or Non Series have established him in that "timeless" space of music creators. One to blame for the expansion on half time and dnb sounds into new psychedelic territory. Vardae is at the very front of a movement that unites breaks, tribe, trancey sounds and techno energy into a new irresistible ritual. His live performance gets better every time, and he turned Ouroboros upside down a couple of days ago. 

Together, you can only imagine what these magicians summon with their sonic potions. And Perpendicular was the cauldron in which their perfect mix took shape. Impossible drum patterns, enchanting atmospheres and their particular flare for transcendental sounds. Combined, these two take their wizardry to the highest levels. 

We couldn't be happier to host these two beloved artists, friends and amazing creatives. Inspiring humans that we always wanted to have in our channel. Infinite gratitude to Melu, Cedric, and the Perpen team for letting us host this piece of musical history. This is HUGE.

The Continuum: Toé & Vardae - Perpendicular 2025

For our twenty-seventh instalment we’ve invited Unalome, a DJ and vinyl enthusiast based in Nijmegen. 

After her beautiful set on our radio.hinter show last year, where we instantly clicked and got lost in her deep and flowing journey, we knew we had to have her back for our podcast series. 

While playing music she is embodying the essence of her artist name, which signifies the path of freedom, her sets are a vibrant fusion of organic elements, psychedelic textures and tribal rhythms. With sound that ranges from deep- and dubbed out to more groovy and driving driving techno, she enjoys blending all these sounds, bridging music from the past and the present.

I’m very excited to share the second guest to contribute a chapter to my Biophilia mix series.

From sunny Sardinia, deep-sky projects is a co-curator of Out Of Focus — a podcast and event series dedicated to the deeper, more introspective shades of dance music. I’ve really enjoyed their mixes this year; they bring sounds and inspirations from all sorts of different realms.

His mix weaves together organic sounds from faraway worlds, introspective and ethereal soundscapes, and hypnotic rhythms that send your head into a twist. It’s a diverse listen that I keep coming back to. The small ambient interludes between the more beat-driven tracks give the whole thing a mellow, relaxed tone — they reframe the beats and basslines as more than just dancefloor enablers, giving them new purpose within the laid-back flow of the mix.

Harknee is a DJ and producer exploring the intersection between techno music and the natural world.

This exploration sees him take elements of nature, from quiet birdsong to large landscapes, and incorporate them into his work, generating a contrast between repetitive rhythms and the unpredictability of the living world. His creations look to evoke the essence of the earth to create sonic landscapes, placing the listener in the midst of flora and fauna.
