Kicking off the 5th season of Harmony podcast series! Just as at the beginning, the goal is to progressively introduce sounds that we dig and talents associated with our label & beyond. 

For this edition, Steffen Bennemann took a turn. Steffen is a DJ & producer from Germany that is well known among our partygoers. Besides that, he is a former curator of the favourite Nachtdigital festival & co-founder of Holger.

As he said himself, “I made a mix using material by one of my favourites - the whole mix is music by just one person. Don’t want to spoil the fun upfront, but I'm sure you'll recognize who I'm talking about."

Deconstructed and disintegrated becomes energy and evolution. So the cycle continues, endlessly. Our next guest, Golden Medusa (aka Lara Golz), has managed to embody this process musically, a suitable tribute for our current moment. Known for her beguilingly ingenious sets as a resident of Leisure System and Refuge Worldwide, Lara's artistic trajectory has developed concurrently with the eclectic and unpredictable undertow of the Berlin music scene. Since the beginning of her career in 2016, she has made regular appearances at Berghain, OHM, and notorious events like Herrensauna and Atonal Festival. However, it wasn't until we invited her to play at the Ambientgarden events we did in collaboration with Staub at ://about blank in 2020 that we discovered the extent of her ambient ambitions. Here Lara shows us again that she can plunge into the depths, providing us with a two-hour mix of oceanic inoculation.

070 - Unrushed by Golden Medusa

The 8th anniversary is not the only milestone that Harmony as a label is celebrating this year. With some glimpses and announcements shared in the past months, we are thrilled to finally showcase the first preview of the forthcoming VA named X [HARMONY010]. A compilation dedicated to day-to-night music that characterizes the main margin of our label. 

The 36-minute-long seamless mix that follows was thoroughly crafted by Alfred Czital, and contains all the material that will be released on the upcoming compilation. The aim is to introduce the piece as a whole and highlight the symbiosis among the tracks. Every member of the Harmony Rec. family made their contribution with personal style and aesthetics. The artists featured on the VA are:

@formant-value is renowned for deep and hypnotic compositions, and we’ve first encountered  him on the dance floor during an @omenwapta gathering inside Amsterdam's Garage Noord. His musical journey is an exploration of abstract landscapes and rhythms, drawing inspiration from the boundless wonders of nature and the cosmos. With a discography that includes releases on @wellstreet, @deliriorecordings, and @annulled_music, Lorenzo has forged a distinct sonic path characterized by its unconventional and ever-evolving style. Since 2014, we organise site-specific, audiovisual events that are morphed by our hand into zones of sparkling joy and sonic enchantment.

We are passionately distributing vibration both on the dance floor and while pressing music on records, however, what we appreciate the most is the community that gathered around us over time. Without our friends and cooperating artists, it would be rather difficult to identify any spirit of the organisation.
