While composing and producing this piece of music, i often had pictures of the sea, sitting on the beach and looking to the endless horizon in my mind. That's The Ticket - The Alyn Cosker Group (Live)

This song was inspired by Dapher Youssef, a musician from Tunesia. He is playing an instrument called oud, which ist an oriental lute. I combined it with an nigerian percussion instrument called udu and handclaps. I chose a 7/4 rhythm, to make it sound a little unusual to western ears. That were the basic decisions and from that moment on all went quite natural for me in composing this song. At the end it was really quite difficult for me to find a right balance in mixing this song. On one hand the rather percussive elements of orient and Nigeria and on the other hand  the remaining more western instruments. Nevertheless i hope, you will enjoy it!

Afer having passed the „Abitur“ (Germany university entrance qualification) i began to study music with the emphasis on composition in Berlin. Before that and during the academic studies i already started to compose for theaters, ballet companies, radio dramas, advertising etc. Later i began to compose for motion pictures in german television. Apart from that i worked with several jazz bands touring Germany and several countries in europe.
About 1990 when the impact of globalization began to influence the music business very dramatically, i decided to quit music business and startet a new career in the financial sector. Today i´m working as a fund manager.
Nevertheless music still belongs to my life like the air to breeze. My small but nice music studio is still there and is waiting for me every weekend. Because i don´t have to earn money with my music, i can compose and produce music without any commercial pressure. And as a composer beyond the mainstream i can promise you: this is really living in luxury..!
And still i´m really happy, when people like my music. Keep on groovin´
