With six in six on Rejected Steve Bug is, what you might call, firmly part of the family. As is his regular sparring partner Cle. However, for the first of '23, the Berlin-based producer flies solo on two excellent late night, heavy-hitting, groovers.

Whilst describing the movements and sounds of the opening track to perfection, 'Grumble Bumble', is also a title that can deceive. There are no tired, ageing shapes being thrown to this mid noughties Pokerflat'esque soundtrack. Strobe light at the ready. Sweat on the walls, the warehouse is calling.

Beautifully countering the heads down stripped-back bounce of the A side, is the percussive and uplifting funk of 'Get Away From Me'. Skipping along on jazzy rides and rim-shots, its menacing chords are pierced by synth stabs, claps and a silky vocal, to create a track that balances power and poise to perfection.

After last "Summer Óde" single release, Ian Metty is back on his own imprint to share with you another 3 pieces of his repertoire.

This time around, rather older tunes, made between years 2016-17, while still residing in Barcelona, Spain.
Tunes that were first supposed to be in his debut album.

But since having too much music, those 3 tracks did not make the final selection, and so are ready to go out just months before the full album comes out.

"In Distant Memories EP" showcases 3 distinctive, yet energy wise similar music compositions, with opening title track to warm things up.

After setting up the mood, Worganium comes in stronger with more dancy groove and sharper sounds supported by strong baseline to spice things up a bit, topped up with French voices.

To finish the EP, we are closing with yet deeper tune Aveyron, which was inspired by wondering in a French forest countryside of the same region, hence the name of the tune.

The whole EP is not super fast, yet not super slow, and can be played and danced to as well as just enjoyed in your sofa.

Barcelona based movement @SideUpWorks is a well known event promoter in their home city and quickly becoming established as a 'go to'  imprint for high quality music. For their 4th release, they have invited Valencia based artist Fiberroot (@dillau-vlc) with a 4 track EP which comes hot off the success of his recent EP on Correspondent.

The EP features 3 originals that showcase his unique emotional approach to production.  This is supported with 2 high quality remixes from long term friend Modernphase and @Damon-Jee.

The latter takes on "Mussman", implementing his trademark sound and elevating the original into a progressive dance-floor bomba.
