The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Heidi Sabertooth. "This Time I'll Quit You For Good" comes off the new split EP from Sabertooth and Drakkar Noir (aka R. Gamble), who are both core members of Lost Soul Enterprises, a New York-based label and platform for analog experiments and mutant sounds past and present: wave, electro, body music, and all things in between. This EP represents the first time these two artists have appeared together on the same release. The EP finds both in top form with raw floor destroyers while touching on different electronic realms. PREMIERE: Heidi Sabertooth - This Time I'll Quit You for Good (Jacktone Records)

At last! This is Lost Soul Enterprises big 15th release on wax, a tidy compilation of off-kilter dance floor cuts and misfit synthpunk anthems.
Side A commences with the gothic, neon-soaked Miami bass of ALONZO's "Cruising with Pap," featuring sinister verses delivered by a shadowy syrup-sipping secret guest vocalist. Up next is bucking bronco NICK KLEIN's slow-mo industrial headbanger "Posture Test.” The sonic equivalent of a sweat-soaked concrete floor, it lurches along at its own mechanical pace amid the metallic hiss and howl. Lastly, wild synth lines and ethereal dubbed-out samples dart in and out over a tough, punchy rhythmic foundation in NAEEM's "TLX," an android's sci-fi electro vision gone haywire.
On the B side, HEIDI SABERTOOTH’s “Was It You” launches us deep into chugging acidic territory, combining enigmatic spoken vocals and a psychedelic, slowly evolving SH-101 line over a persuasive groove. Like a slap in the face after that comes raucous synth-punk powerhouse SSPS with “Paradise Lozt,” raw as fuck, chanting a litany of dystopian tales atop pumping drums and a wash of demented organ-like synth stabs. Finally we close with the short but powerful “New Vape City” by the nomadic DOUCE ANGOISSE - an absolute earworm, a doleful coldwave ballad whose lush production plays perfect counterpoint to the icy, deadpan sentiments within.

NYC based singer, multi instrumentalist and prolific producer Heidi Sabertooth brings her experimental and grungy sound to the fore, with a fierce EP examining the grainiest textures in dance music. It’s been over three years since she brought her unique brand of raw techno to Lobster Theremin, and now Heidi deepens her relationship between art and modern-day living in a blend of controlled chaos.

Opening track ‘Screaming Into The Abyss’ does exactly that, with its use of muddled voices and melancholic allure, glued loosely together with vintage acid and the producer's deep love of hardware. There’s a playfulness to follow up ‘Slide Into My DM’, Hedi’s elements seemingly communicating telepathically in a game of mutant-chess. Grooves and otherworldly dynamics flux and spill while splashes of reverb make it anything but predictable.

B side opener ‘Pissed’ maintains this raw aesthetic, sounding both mechanical and free-flowing with its foreboding melodies, melting between heavy bass and screeching pads; remaining functional but full of beautiful, unconventional touches. The record comes to a close with title track ‘Insane In The Cat Brain’ a disorientated affair encapsulating the restlessness and uncertainty of our times, spearheaded by an artist never afraid to take risks.

Following appearances on Ellen Allien’s UFO Inc. and Bpitch Control, Lobster Theremin,and many more, NYC-based singer,multi-instrumentalist, DJ, and producer Heidi Sabertooth readies her first appearance on New York Trax, turning in a fierce four track EP of gritty hardware techno jams.
Leading the release, ‘Be My ISM’ brings raw and crunching percussion alongside grinding low end for a high energy start to the EP.
The fast-paced ‘Jupiter Calling’ follows, raising the tempo to 150bpm as pounding kicks meet grinding, machinist percussion while trippy synthesis unfurls towards the tail end of the track.
On the flip, ‘Welcome 2 Mirror World’ sees warped acid lines and sizzling percussion bring a dark and moody atmosphere, before ‘You Must Have 10000 Followers (For Me To Book You)’ closes out the release.
A jittery slice of bass heavy electro, the punchy track makes use of squelchy synthesis, knocking drums and an assortment of unruly sounds.

Lobster returns to it's scorched earth roots with a dark, gritty blend of techno-based power traxx from New York staple Heidi Sabertooth.

Tracks scraped from the surface of the NY underground. Proper hardware jams with a raw, scorched edge!

Eyes Are Watching combines punched kicks, squelched synths and pitched-down grunting mosh vox. The mood then lightens a touch for the hypnotic, dusty hardware workout Non Such. Jackin' Chitown vibes peppered with plucked & arp'd synths.

On the flip Makin Cutz is pure can-recorded techno. Overdrive-central in a caged industrial basement. Detuned acid & raw af hammering drum programming. Then for the finishing move, Weeding Through Distortion adds some off-club IDM-tinged sonic flavour to proceedings. Echoes of early Warp (think elements of Autechre live in Wakefield in the early 90's) shot through with some hard US noise processing. A tough, melodic gem.

Special Interest Group is the first compilation to be released on Cultivated Sound, featuring tracks from both experimental artists, ambient, and dance music artists locally in New York and internationally.

This compilation expands the dynamic range of electronic music by incorporating a variety of sounds from ambient, electronic to electro-acoustics to noise, house and techno.

“Special Interest Group” represents a post-utopian vision on forming a community of artists that narrates the experience of traveling to an imaginary reality, sharing a collective interest in expanding the listener's perception of sound by experimenting and advancing sound from machines and acoustic instruments. By inputting information, creating an environment to learn, collaborate, reflect and address ideas to each other. This compilation showcases Cultivated Sound’s aesthetic and pursues in sound, also is a tribute to the place that can be inhabited but is nevertheless a mirage.

The three tape album is mastered by Ryan Wurst, featuring artwork and photography by Tayla Roberge. A limited version of 100 copies will be released as a special art edition in collaboration with PASP, releasing both physically and digitally.
