In 2020, Mell G dropped out of law studies to pursue music full-time and hasn't looked back since. For good reason too—she's far too busy for any potential regret. Over the past three years, the Hamburg-based artist launched JUICY GANG RECORDS, switched up her DJing style from ghettotech to electro, began touring and started producing. Her year-and-a-half old label is now a go-to source for brazen, bouncy club bangers and her refocused, electro-heavy sound has led to bookings alongside DJ Stingray, Pearson Sound and other heavy-hitters.

The rising star is certainly having a moment, yet it hasn't been all smooth sailing. These sudden career ascents can be tricky to navigate emotionally and her upcoming debut album ISSUES expresses some of the mental health struggles she's faced along the way.

Her RA Podcast is similarly personal. Moving from retro synthwave to acid-laced techno to UK bass before ending on funky electro, it embodies the core sounds that are near and dear to her. Loaded with lots of gritty low-end frequencies, it's a thrilling ride across contemporary club music that cements her status as an in-demand DJ.

"ISSUES REMIXES" EP offers a different take on DJ MELL G's critically acclaimed solo LP. The remix edition breathes new sounds and textures into "ISSUES", led by some of the most innovative and exciting talents in today's electronic music scene. By writing and producing music about her own experiences with BPD and featuring Manuka Honey, Sally C, Cyan85, Ben Pest and Peachlyfe along the way, DJ MELL G continues to raise awareness about the condition, challenge stigmatised views, and empower others to create meaningful dialogue around mental health.

Bristol's Ben Pest remixes "DISTURBED MIND". On this occasion, the UK producer and live performer concocts a freaky, otherworldly mood with crunchy snares, zappy sound FX and an alien version of DJ MELL G's vocals. A rugged and raw electro tune to jolt the dancefloor in the early hours.

The compilation will not be available on any streaming services. Most of the 150 limited edition copies will be available through our Bandcamp page and at the event on 10th of February STAUB 11. Each record is unique with special coloring, a process involving xrays and high temperatures. They are very pretty :)

It’s about time that Dresden based Steve Kasper comes around with his first solo EP on Uncanny Valley. After “Unvexed Dub” on UV010 and “Puli Kali (Rooted Dub)” together with Götterkreis on UV020 EP he provides four original cuts that extend the label's sound with some UK flavour.

“Helms Klamm” isn’t quite the battlefield you expect from the title but a fine UKish House affair with warm synths and a distinctive bass line that will cause a stir on the dance floor. Then there is “Slo’fool (Ydee Dirtsocks Reset)” which starts mysteriously tempered and develops into a hell of a tune with its drone-like synths. “Good Old” showcases Steve’s knack for combining ingredients of the UK Hardcore Continuum. Good old it is. Finally, the dubby track that has to be on a coherent Steve Kasper-EP is “Rooted (TRVE Dub)”. No doubt: Steve knows his masters.
