Following on from the success of Jorkes's Sweet Dream EP on the influential Live At Robert Johnson label, a wealth of innovative electronic talents all serve up their own remixes of it including Paris Böhm, Alinka, ROTCIV, Hard Ton, and more.

German-born but Austria-based Jorkes runs the Freeride Millenium label with her muse, lover, and partner Daniel Rajcsanyi aka. Paris Böhm. Her provocative work centralizes gender, queer and egalitarian attitudes, and her Sweet Dreams EP showed the many different sides of her sound.

It is Radio8000 resident ParisBöhm who offers the first remix of 'CDEvaLo'. It's slow and sensuous, with intimate spoken word vocals and lithe synths while the bubbling melodies add color. Next up is Ukraine-born but Berlin-based Alinka, whose hard-hitting sounds have come on the likes of Rekids and Crosstown. Her version of 'Sweet Dream' is uplifting and glossy with busy arps rising up over prickly drums. Acid gurgles add extra texture to this classy floor filler. Freeride Millenium associates Snecker aka Berghain resident DJ nd_baumecker and musician, singer, songwriter, producer, performer, and DJ Snax tackle the same track. In their hands, it becomes a steamy house cut with floating synth motifs and crisp claps over a tantalizing beat that never stops building.

ROTCIV is another Freeride Millenium artist who has a cultured and colorful sound built on alternating arpeggios, automated synth melodies, and weird vocals. His remix of 'You Will Be Mine' is a zoned-out vocal disco chugger with a rugged bassline. The cosmic rays up top and silky arps help the whole track take off. Italian duo and accomplished disco queens Hard Ton are all about hi-nrg beats and screaming acid bass whenever they release on Freeride Millenium or the likes of Toy Tonics. They remix 'You Will Be Mine' in typically high-impact fashion as crashing hits and drums pump the party underneath astral synths and libidinous vocals. Experimental Berlin art trio New Hook then step up to rework 'Robot Lover' into something beautifully atmospheric and melancholic with thoughtful chords over nu-disco grooves. This package is completed with a final fantastic Форм Remix of 'CDEvaLo' that adds yet another perspective.

All bases are covered in head-turning fashion on this vital remix EP.

This is a cassette tape recording of the Latvian electronic dance music radioshow "Defekts". This particular emission was dedicated to Latvian Beat - DIY dance music phenomenon comprising tracks of Latvian DJs, musicians and MCs created circa 1989-1993. Most of these tracks were based on reel-tape edits overdubbed with rapping or singing.  Latvian Beat reel-tape compilations were made and circulated mostly among DJs at the time. With the debut mini-album of his new project Olekhar, experienced Canadian DJ of Ukrainian origin Alexander Harris presents his personal vision of how the music of the future may sound.

"Jays in Space" results from a successful experiment in the hybrid crossing of spacey electro with proto-house. Although light and unobtrusive at first glance, this music is made with laboratory precision. In each of the five tracks of the mini-album, Olekhar deftly hid many cultural codes: echoes of the 90s, the influence of different scenes, and the legacy of cult labels.

Following up on the runaway success of his Dream The Dream compilation, Richard Sen returns with three dance floor focussed interpretations of tracks from the record. 

In his own words: “With the remixes, I took 3 quite different styled tracks, UVX (trance), Bandulu (percussive ambient) and Mind Over Rhythm (progressive breakbeat) and tried to keep the original 90s vibe to them but add my own personality. 

Because there were no separate parts available to use, I had to take samples of audio from the finished originals. I added my own synth sounds and drums where necessary so they became remixes, rather than just edits.”

Dropping just in time for festival season, these variations are undoubtedly going too sound track the summer!

The small but already well-formed Innate label offers up a superb split EP for its sixth outing. Gilbert opens up with 'Low Flying Objects', a widescreen and serene bit of synth-laden tendon with more than a hint of Motor City soul over the dusty drums. 'Unknown Entities' is a brain-cleansing and celestial electro-styled cut with dreamy pads and cinematic deepness. Bristol-born, Welsh-rooted Owain K then steps up to the flip with equally painterly sounds. 'Corona Borealis' pairs deep and rubbery bass with crisp electro drum patterns and far-sighted chords. 'New Horizon' then closes out with some delightfully dozy deep house that's laden with wispy chords and undulating bass.

Midnight Savari returns with his third release on Jakarta's Akamady Records, run by KOMODO @komodo-jkt. The EP starts off with Strange Coincidences, a deep space arpeggiated disco tune, a nod to disco heads out there. Best served eyes-closed, heart-open, and feet ready to dance your troubles away. Psychic Tower, an alchemical endeavor to convert symbols and lines from the ancient "I Ching" into a corresponding musical theme. The track introduces the transcendental Sundanese "karinding" jaw-harp intermingled with a classic acid line. Lastly, Zoo Keeper is a 105-bpm swung oldschool hip-hop beat with trippy breaks, rolling basslines, imaginary zoo animals, more karinding, and topped with some tripped-out vocals from your local zoo guide.

The Imaginarium is a unique pearl gleaming within the beautiful galaxy of Lithuanian festivals. Super small in size, yet abundant in beauty of all kinds, the festival is – first and foremost – about the joy of the creation process. This is an essential aspect of human growth that is often overlooked during modern-day events.

Pretty Much tribe nurtures a culture of support, mutual creation, and skill-sharing. With every third person of the collective having learned how to use the DJ decks, it was only natural to take a step forward into music production. This is how five producers were paired with six beginners to go on a unique musical journey together for this compilation of six tracks. Each of them explores the idea of connectedness because the main theme of The Imaginarium VII was about transforming aloneness into oneness.

We believe that genuine and meaningful connections are what every human being truly seeks. The question then is: what if some of the energy put into hyping up people with big names was redirected into fostering co-creation? How much is it possible for a person to open up due to the environment?

To answer this, Pretty Much tribe has built a utopian village that values sharing over commerce. A space where every individual can bask in the sun of imagination by playing an important part in the collective. Heincha (aka neon b.) has been a purveyor of fine and groovy dance music since the mid 90′s, growing up and getting into DJ-ing simultaneously with explosion of the rave scene in Latvia. Since that time his journey into the world of dance music has led him through such stylistic benchmarks as Detroit, techno, minimal, deep- and tech-house, funk, breaks, electroclash among others. Currently Heincha’s is up to deep and cosmic yet funky vibes - be that disco, house, techno, acid or 80's synth music. Sometimes he prefers taking a rather eclectic path, considering that all the technical categories become meaningless in front of music that evokes emotional or intellectual response.
Although Heincha currently resides in Luxemburg, he still has strong ties with the electronic dance music scene in Latvia and can be regularly seen DJing there. Apart from digging and mixing up other producers' records, Heincha enjoys making his own rhythms and beats. He is also a writing contributor to various indie culture and music magazines.
