Small Creatures

I expect nothing from this life, cold  hard cash provides me with the fix I need, to forget. 
I predict nothing but more strife. Though you hurt you break me with your need, to forget.

 I never wanted anything much. A bed, a shelter, maybe your love.

When will tomorrow turn to today, 
when with a whisper, promises fade. 
When will the truth, which stood by our side
Slip into darkness where it will hide. 
When will we find, we are just small creatures

I'll admit nothing to myself, blind regret is better then images you can't forget
I will remain only a shell, if I feel i make myself a target for regret
