Imagine if Tim Burton asked Kate Bush to create a song cycle with Danny Elfman and commissioned Bjork to produce it.

Croatian-born, London-based Helena spent her childhood giving classical recitals around the world, blissfully unaware of pop, until a chance conversation with a lecturer inspired her to set a poem to music. For the rest of her degree Helena hid in her bedroom, channelling Kate Bush, Danny Elfman and Bjork to create her eerie piano pop songs.  

Breaking free of the classical world, Helena’s eerie piano fairy tales have been featured on BBC 6 Music Introducing, Dandelion Radio and an Audio Antihero compilation with artists such as Jeffrey Lewis, Diane Cluck and Darren Hayman.

I grew up listening to disco, funk, R&B, was once an aspiring DJ in the early 1980's who for quite a while made a living selling mix cassettes to friends and acquaintances to buy expensive maxi-singles for potential airplay. However, I felt that R&B music had undergone a regressive transformation in 1983 and 1984 so radically that I fell out of love with R&B and delved into punk, new wave, and brit pop. I scrapped my ambition to become a dance club disc jockey for a very long time. In 1996, while going out dancing with my friends in Germany, techno, trance, and house music caught my attention, I would occasionally find a tune worthy of a mix or two but I was not in the correct environment to find the necessary inspiration as my favorite clubs were, one after the other, while living in Germany going out of business, Anyway, time went on, and I expanded my horizons musically by listening to music from many parts of the planet, such as anime, along with mainstream and traditional Chinese and Japanese tunes, finding Yuki Kajiura and Faye Wong particularly inspiring. I stumbled my way back to electronic music in 2012 and noticed that it had evolved so much since 2002, is much better than during my years in Germany. For now my interest in musical styles are changing week after week. For now, I like techno, dub techno, progressive trance, synthwave, ambient, vaporwave, chillwave, dystopian, blade runner, and lounge.
