This new release from HELP presents music from various HELP-related artists. Another release from the Århus-imprint that doesn’t directly state “club-proof”, but still, this one wouldn’t mind having a spin or two by your local dance-pusher. The opening track is by Central; a fresh house tune with both melodies and good-vibes - maybe the closest this young man has come to making an anthem. Next up is the 4 piece group Maizena with a ambiguous rhythmical ambient-house jam from the area of Denmark where it rains the least. On the B-side you’ll find a raw and to the point recording of DJ Sports and C.K joining PH1 in his throwback techno-studio in the suburbs of Århus. Next up is the long awaited debut from Manmade Deejay, who has been cooking a floating rhythm jam for this 5 course meal of modern danish cuisine. Last but not least Amsterdam-based KAAP joined Central on a fine day at Rubber Studios to create this dreamy and galloping ride.  All in all this genuine piece of wax if filled with local devotion and love from the HELP-crew. Ninth Percentile

In this third chapter of the BROT series, we wrap up the trilogy from the Reykjavík based producer Felix @felixleifur, who has genuinely showcased his incredible set of production skills throughout the year.

These last five BROT tracks move the sound to another spectrum where Felix plays around with his traditional sound. But this time the tempo is high, and the strong influences from old school breakbeat and jungle shine through. Felix's BROT 03 ties up the first BROT series with flair and this one will surely not be the last one.

Stay tuned for more BROT action in 2020.

You’ve probably heard by now that Australia is in the midst of an unprecedented climate disaster. Catastrophic bushfires are raging across much of Australia and have not only taken a huge human and economic toll but have also delivered heavy blows to native flora and fauna. 

BONN are passionate about contributing to a brighter future and are committed to taking action, especially when politicians won’t. In response to the tragic events that are taking place in theirs and possibly your homeland, they asked some talented friends to contribute to a compilation to support those affected by the devastating bushfires across Australia. 

Proceeds will be donated to a campaign set up by a Yorta Yorta man and community rights advocate, Neil Morris (Drmngnow). The money raised will offer culturally sensitive, specific and direct support to communities with critical costs to cover—such as temporary relocation, basic amenities, property repairs and ongoing support where necessary.

A note from BONN also to say "we acknowledge that these tragedies have occurred on Sacred Indigenous lands where Sovereignty has not been ceded. The ongoing connection of First Nations people’s to country and culture is critical to life on this land. We acknowledge our ancestors and elders past present and future."

After a long hiatus our unsigned series is back. Producers who have appeared on the series so far have been approached by labels and subsequently had material released by them after we helped shed some light on the new talents. We hope we’re able to do the same with the next one in the bunch, coming from Melbourne's @darcykhalid. 

Get to know a little about him below:

Hey, I’m Darcy Khalid.

I’ve been producing music for about five years and DJing and playing piano for a little longer. Since I moved to Melbourne in 2016, I’ve been producing music with at least the vague intention to release it publicly. I wanted to wait until I felt I had a sound that was my own, and I guess that time has come.

My Unsigned track is from my debut EP. The record features three quite different tracks, including elements of ambience, techno, drum & bass – even hints of jazz on the A1. Hakone Schoolyard is the A2, and if someone called it a broken beat ambient techno jam, I wouldn’t call them crazy.

It evolved three times over about 18 months. I made a version, got bored of it, left it alone, then repeated that process several months later. What you hear now is take three. I can be a bit ambitious with my compositions, so they’re often long and multi-sectioned. My favourite songs will change a lot, weaving between atmospheres, energy levels and tempos, often seamlessly, but occasionally with bold abruption. I tried to do both here. I hope it worked.

Italian Samuele De Santis from the 'This Is Not' crew makes his YUNG DUMB debut with a 4-track original EP, aptly titled 'Future Camp'. The A-Side features the title track, an acidic and dystopian sounding electronica cut, paired with dusty and raw 808s. 'Warm Truck' stays on the same train with a slowed break, accompanied by crunchy analogue basslines, off-the-box drum work, and hazy keys. The B-Side opens with 'Voices Of Varese Lake' a club-ready number with airy vocals and punchy, woody percussion. Closing out the EP is 'Time Machine' which forays into more of an early-night house sound with soulful crooning sample bits, instrumentation chops, and wavy synths. This is Future Camp!

Agrabah is known for playing with the sounds of the 80s and 90s old-school, sometimes flowing through the beats in 4x4, sometimes diving into the grooves of Breakbeat, bringing even unconventional sounds from different parts of the world to the dance floors. 

With releases on labels such as clipp.art, Gop Tun, Golddome, Trip to Deep, Gatopardo, Agrabah has already received support from artists like The Blessed Madonna, Quincy Jointz, Nick Warren and Moskalus. She is currently a Music Production instructor at Aimec Curitiba, and a writing collaborator for Alataj.
