Unicycles - Hibernator (LIVE DEMO)

Initially exhibited as part of the Oct 20th 2022 performance of Ecdysis at Progress Lab 1422 in Vancouver, Canada. The purpose of the video was to gently introduce the audience into the world of Ecdysis before the main performance was set to begin. 

The video features 3D shots of Emmalena Fredriksson's cyborg character. You can view the whole video on my website, link in bio.

KNAS (Zack Darza Edit)

Done in 1995 with a Yamaha RY-30 drum machine, the Yamaha SPX900 FX processor and a half dead Akai X7000 sampler, all running through an Akai MG-614 4-track cassette recorder (with 14 lines of throughput) that was also playing recordings of "The Prisoner" for the first half, and a lecture by a Buddhist philosopher for the second half, all mixed live to DAT.  It took a few takes to get the cassette parts to land right.  I'd had a computer but had to sell it so my cat could have a kitty abortion.

The sounds for this composition were created using the objects in photo. A modified fan, a mortar, a bell and an iron. The sounds were then gently edited and composed into this piece specifically created to celebrate drone day. Free to download, thank you for listening.

Hibernator is the combined musical weirdness of Dave King (Longwalkshortdock) and Tim Hill (Rim, Rim Visuals). It functions primarily as an excuse to wear bear costumes and play with analog synths run thru way to many effects in order to space out. We really like it. We hope you do too.
