Hidden Shoal is proud to announce the release of ‘On and Onwards’ by Erik Nilsson, the first single from his forthcoming album "Hearing Things" (30/7/15).

The direct emotive power of ‘On and Onwards’ comes from the simple accumulation of pristine instrumental elements: shimmering chimes, resonant piano chords, a driving kick drum, and a glitchy, echoing hook. The elements build and play off each other with clarity and precision, resulting in a track of deceptive power and resonance.

Erik Nilsson - 'On And Onward'

Part of the opening track from my latest ambient album Real Life and How To Avoid It, out on CD, download and streamies.

This track (like most of my music) was improvised live in my studio with most of my synths rather than just the laptop. 
It is another example of me exploring ways of making even more minimal music that is still satisfying.
