Recorded live at the first Rebloom on Saturday 11th May, a party series in London that celebrates deeper minded music. The first instalment was hosted at Avalon in South Bermondsey on a scorcher of a sunny day. 

This set was recorded quite early on in the programming, and an opportunity to transition from the ambient soundscapes played by the ever charming Tolly Odd, and try to lay a foundation for Shoal, Laura BCR and Ario who played later on in the evening.

Instrumental bits and pieces taken from two albums: "Trip to the Core" and "Pathfinder" previously released by City Groovez/Essential Dancemusic (Europe) and Tone Casualties (USA/Japan), also the label those days for pioneer Holger Czukay.

Recorded and produced between 1999 and 2001 by "The Flying Dutchman" (Hanyo van Oosterom aka Son Of Chi) at the Chi Factory Studios, Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Recorded on 16-track Adat. No computer, only one-take overdubs, tapeloops, sample sequences and live bass, percussion, guitars, piano, synths, vocals and lots of live mixing by Hanyo van Oosterom. Final mix and mastering by Jurgen Brouwer & Hanyo van Oosterom.

Menhir is a music and art collective formed by singer Coco Moya (@mediococo) and producer Iván Cebrián, based in Spain. In between contemporary electronics, ambient, and minimalism music. Menhir creates immersive musical experiences by combining analog synthesis soundscapes, ethereal voices, and layered sound processing.

Menhir's note: 

This mix is the result of exploring some of our musical influences. It features a couple of surprises, such as a recording we made of Gregorian chant at the monastery of Silos, a renowned site for this musical form across the peninsula. It's quite fascinating and beautiful how it blends into the mix with absolutely contemporary music. In essence, we were seeking music for listening and music as a form of knowledge.

For the past 20 years, Jorge Ortiz de Pinedo, known by his moniker STBL (@stable-mechanism), has been developing his work in the realms of electronic music and sound art. With beginnings deeply rooted in the most elusive and daring music, he has strived to maintain a stylistic coherence, oscillating between distinctly minimalist approaches and more "musical" ones, always balancing sobriety and rhetoric.

Author's note: My proposal for Temple clearly reflects all the paths I have been exploring in recent years, utilising field recordings, generative synthesis, and more classical ambient patterns. As is customary, each live performance by STBL is ephemeral and unique to each occasion, making this recording a snapshot of the present and a memory of my appearance at the marvellous Espacio Perpendicular.

#temple_for_listeners is an event dedicated to attentive listening and static dance, curated by Camu and Josephine's Soundscapes for Espacio Perpendicular.

This track was conceived by chance, exploring and getting lost in a beautiful sound. This formed the core of the piece, recorded as a single take one cool spring morning with my daughter playing on the studio floor, quietly for once! The rest naturally followed.
